    Welcome Emma. As a fan of both the USWNT and Euro football, I am over the moon that you are at the helm of our nat'l team !! Your record speaks for itself, and what you speak in these first few interviews shows why you have been so successful. (Knowledge, hard work, realistic assessments, good-heartedness, and a pleasant personality.) Hopefully the powers that be will give you and the team time to adjust and grow together. Anyone who criticizes you for giving an honest assessment of where the USWNT ranks obviously doesn't follow international football. Best wishes to you and the team. This is so freaking awesome !!!

    Tubby Hayes has won nothing but domestic titles with Chelsea. When it came to competing in Europe for the Champions league, she was a total failure. She is tactically clueless. If you want evidence of this, watch Chelsea next season. They will dominate the European scene under the guidance of Sonia Bompastor. Hope you get to enjoy the antics of your double cheeseburger Queen.

    That's more a woman's mentality. For better or worse. Although that's generally better suited to kids than men. Although it's a valid idea that if you focus more on playing well than winning you should get positive results. That's how young academy kids are coached these days.

    Proper coach. I am very happy she's in command now. The USMNT needs to get a coach with similar credentials. Bielsa was it for me before he got snatched by Uruguay. Maybe Poch?

  • @HarvesterYT

    @HarvesterYT

    5 күн бұрын

    @leandroestrada2199 The trouble with the USMNT will be hiring a coach who fits their level. Pochettino is used to elite players, and the US team aren't an elite one. I personally thought they should've gone for Marsch, imo he's the best American coach and would've had the right character and philosophy to improve the team. He's wasted at Canada.

  • @leandroestrada2199

    @leandroestrada2199

    5 күн бұрын

    @@HarvesterYT I disagree. Poch has history taking teams with less-than-elite players and making them into proper players. Espanyol and Southampton are clear examples of this, even Tottenham. Players like Coutinho, Pandiani, Pau Lopez and Callejon at Espanyol; Wanyama, Luke Shaw, Lovren, Jay Rodriguez, Ward-Prowse, Schneiderlin, Fonte, Calum Chambers, Lallana at Southampton; Walker, Kane, Lloris, Rose, Dier, Fazio, Vertonghen, Ben Davies, Paulinho, Lamela, Townsend, Eriksen, Trippier, Dele Alli, Winks, Son Heung-Min...I could keep going as I haven't even gotten to Chelsea yet, where in 1 year took a completely discombobulated team and qualified them to European competitions. If you compare any of these players, Poch would be happy to develop the youngsters while sharpening the more "elite" ones in Robinson, Pulisic, Adams, McKinnie and the like. We deserve better than Marsch. He's a good motivator, but he lacks on tactics and was well found out with Leeds. I wish him the best with Canada as it's a good opportunity for him to strengthen a team that needs leadership and motivation, but the USMNT needs to have an elite coach to bridge the gap with UEFA/CONCACAF. In my opinion, a good start would be with an Argentinian coach; hopefully English-speaking and with experience in MLS. Tata Martino perhaps? - I also like what Pekerman did with Colombia and would be a good footprint to follow.

    I had commented much of what was said in this interview over the last twelve months. I hope Emma is given chance to work at taking the US game forward over a period of years, not just judged on results from day one. Unlike some other comments, if the US looks at results in the last five years, they do not lie. Three European teams and Australia were in the top four at the World Cup. That is where the US team is now, out of the positions that were taken by countries with leagues that were progressing faster, having gone professional with years of experience in men's football to draw on.

    Saludos desde España ! Si España juega con sus mejores jugadoras y conseguimos jugar nuestros estilo de Tiki Taka, vuestra mejor baza para ganarnos sería jugar al "counterattacking", no es vergonzoso jugar ese estilo de juego cuando sabes que tu rival es superior técnica y tácticamente (Italia masculina lo ha utilizado en muchas ocasiones y han conseguido ganar 4 Copas del Mundo). Bajo mi punto de vista Enma Hayes siendo una gran entrenadora, sólo sabe poner 10 jugadoras (5-3-2) cerca de su área y salir al contragolpe para intentar ganar al FCBarcelona (el 70% de las jugadoras españolas son del FCB) y casi consigue pasar a la final de la UWCL con el Chelsea... pero dudo mucho que consiga hacer que tengáis el dominio del balón contra nosotras. Aún así, quedaré expectante para ver si Enma Hayes consigue una mejora SIGNIFICATIVA en el aspecto táctico y técnico de USWNT (en el aspecto físico y mental si creo que estáis entre los equipos TOPs)... buena suerte, quizás nos veamos en los Juegos Olímpicos 👋

10:45 Euro bias shining through brightly. The US has the deepest and best talent pool in the world. She's not wrong about the expectations and competitions in Europe but the entire world has not caught up. The only reason there was a "gap" is the popularity roster selection to sell tickets. There are probably college teams here in the US that would compete in UEFA champions league.

Like the country as a whole, they always say its the greatest country in the world, and when it comes to any sport they still believe it. But going by the last 3 or 4 years, neither belief is true anymore. Emma was being kind, there is a large gap to the European teams now, and going by the last world cup, south american teams are starting starting to out perform the US as well. Before they fix the problems, they need to acknowledge the problems. Emma wont take any ego rubbish, and any US player with diva behaviour will be out on their ear. The first pro league in the US was made back in the early 2000s I believe so technically during their first 3 world cups they were “amateurs” but title ix did give them a bit of an advantage or something like that. But yes, in many ways it’s a good thing that other countries are catching up.

    My worries are two: No national team experience and Euro bias that isn't yet earned. In this and in an interview on the ESPN site, Hayes refers to "top teams" as if the USA isn't one of them. While other teams have caught up, the USWNT is still one of the best. Her job should be bringing more tactical skills to the team, not trash talking it. I hope she does well, as I want the team to win. We'll see if she adjusts.
