Eight or #9 alternative are from WC2019 right! She didn’t dump everyone, but she has 5 complete newbies and a few from 2022 WC. It’s a mix of seasoned success, taste of failure, and newbies.

Losing Casey Stoney has been absolutely devastating for us Wave FC fans. We LOVE her for all the reasons you guys have said. A HUGE loss for San Diego sports. Our pride game this weekend is going to be very very bittersweet.

I would have bet money that Lily Yohanis was not going to be a part of the USA Olympic squad. Whenever I see her with the USWNT she looks like she feels like an outsider, a player with a big decision to make. And if I'm being honest, I think she will opt for the Netherlands. The Dutch are a top 10 nation and if she chooses the Netherlands she gets to play in the Euros every four years. The fact that the men's Euro 2024 is in full swing and the fanatical Dutch Orange army is in full voice will not have been lost on her. If the truth be told, the USA would jump at the chance to play in the Euros. The Copa America (especially the women's version) doesn't even come close and the Olympics as a multi-sport event does not get anything like the eyeballs/coverage of the Euros and the World Cup. It's a big decision to have to make, but the Euro fact is a big enough factor to weigh her decision in favour of the Netherlands.
Women’s football is no better in Europe than it is in the US don’t get the men and women’s game confused.

"Stoney sticks up for players". It is NOT the coach's job to LIE for players, and it especially NOT the coach's job to attack other NWSL teams and organizations by LYING about them. That conduct hurts the entire NWSL, and thousands of teen and pre-teen girls who paid substantial ticket prices to attend the only soccer game in their region of the country, wearing the USWNT jersey of Stoney's player. She richly deserved to be fired. Justice was delayed, that's all.

Can we just take a moment to appreciate Emma Hayes what a breath of fresh air on the hiring of her as the head coach of uswnt. The days of selecting players just because of your name and past glory are over plus Alex Morgan hasn't been in form for a long time and she isn't versatile enough to be used. Emma is right the time for all the young talent to bridge the gap that has existed in the women's game between the old guards and the new young guard needs to be closed. And am predicting more changes to come especially in the goalkeeper position.

Morgan isn't a shock. Time catches up with us all. She's one of the best players the US has had, but it's time to move on.
Yup, she would've made a 22-player roster, but it's hard to justify bringing her on a roster of just 18 players.

Even if USWNT had all their prior best players in their prime they are a shadow of the team that Spain has now deal with it. Prime wambach, mia hamm, morgan all get smoked by todays Spain.
I believe everybody needs to calm down with hearing this news. Alex Morgan is a professional one of the better ones we had the represent this team class act I don't remember hearing from her that she is retiring so she will be back with the WNT.
Shouldn't we be concerned that Emma only took 3 CBs and NO alternates to the Olympics? If one of them were to get hurt we'd be down to 2 starters and no backup. I feel like one of the midfield alternates should have been used on a CB

i live right outside of dc so i watch almost all the home games and criox bethune and trinity rodman are a great duo. although croix bethune is amazing, kinda sad ashley hatch is a sub now

The roster looks good. Some fresh eyes on the fields and sidelines. Lets see what they can do. As far as Prancer aka Morgan.....well she hadn't shown much even in the NWSL lately. No biggie. I was shocked to see Campbell as an alternate. She has been playing well in goal. In my opinion Naeher has been off btw the posts.
