Take into consideration that Lily Yohannes maybe didn’t want to make her decision yet. If she goes to the Olympics with the US, that means she’d be captied with the US. Giver her time.. shes 16
I like the roster. My biggest worries about durability center on the midfielders - which makes Yohannes's exclusion a concern. But - Emma Hayes talked about Lily in her press conference and apparently Lily just isn't ready to commit to the US vs. Netherlands. It would be unfair to cap tie her by default rather than letting her have the space to make her decisions. Hat's off to Hayes for that. I know she really likes Yohannes and would hate to lose her. There's time. Lily isn't yet a Dutch citizen and Netherlands did not qualify for the Olympics. Lily has time until the next national team tournament to consider her future.
I like the roster a lot and only change I would make is Bethune for Dunn.
I'm not particularly happy with the chosen alternates. The 18 are good but if we have to replace anyone it will be a big downgrade.

Agreed, but I still think that it was the right decision with just an 18-player roster.
If Albert had made or endorsed a racist statement or celebrated a racially motivated violent act against another player, would her athletic prowess alone suffice? Why does homophobia seem to receive leniency? Being equitable is hard and it demands empathy for those most harmed.
