If Jenny said she was from the same community I’d weigh her opinion much more higher. Of course what she said is true in some ways. How do we close that gap? But Sandra is also right. A good show of faith was not a 24 hour story. Whoever directed her to do that gave her poor advice. Anyone who thinks otherwise isn’t coming from neutral views. We should all be able to agree that that wasn’t the best show of accountability. An IG post would have gone so much further. Yes, people notice these things, especially the harmed community.

I agree with Sandra. But I’ll say what she didn’t. It should have been an IG post. Unless you were viewing her story then you never personally saw the apology unless it was reposted by someone else. A good show of accountability would be to see the apology even now on her page. If you think her apology being in a story that only stays up for 24 hrs is a coincidence then you are naive. That was a personal choice. Almost like it never existed. I also agree with some points by Jenny. However, outside of an apology that has disappeared and these internal conversations there’s nothing else. Korbin’s family are deep into their beliefs she shared. It’s going to take a lot for her to be more inclusive and sensitive. I will say, hearing a take from someone not in the community will never hold the same weight. Sorry Jenny. The harmed community will always be the voices I’d listen to more. Same thing with race and people telling me and other black people how to feel. It’s the harmed community who we should listen to the most in what could make things better and it’s been clear.

Let's just call it what it was for years with the USWNT the players some more than others had to much power. It was hard for younger players to get caps which caused a development problem. The world has caught up because you had passed coaches more worried about if people liked them than making tough decisions. Spanish women have won on all three levels of their national team that shows commitment to development. That's what Emma has to get back to is development of our Younger players.

It's about on the field, not off !!( In regards to Albert) ...it's about the front of the jersey to me not the name on the back....there are a lot of " bad apples" on sports teams and we all still root for them on the field....this is no different for me...

I don’t disagree with you Jenny, I think you make a great point. I think the difference to me is that she is representing our country on this team and this team has continually stood on strong core values that she does not share and actively stood against by sharing her views on social media - so is she the right person to represent USA on the world stage? But also we don’t see what work they are doing internally and I’d be super interested in that and Korbin’s response within the team

Do you think there is any weight on the Albert decision caused by the fact that she plays in France and that could be advantageous for the team? Her and Horan could bring experience and wisdom due to that… just a thought!

Interesting, a panel of 3 women discussing Albert. One is arguing to move on and to support the full 18 player roster. The other two aren't buying her arguments. They want Albert to suffer. They want a lifetime ban from USWNT. They point out that her performance has dropped off, even as Hayes says that her performance merits her inclusion on this roster. This is a hateful video, with 2 people seeking revenge. Thanks, Jenny, for being the adult.

I find it hypocritical and ironic that some of the same people in these comments that are talking about how hateful it is that some players and media personalities are disappointed or are speaking out about Korbin Albert's inclusion on the Olympic roster, are the same ones that hoped the USWNT would lose at the last WWC because of these insinuations that those women were being patriotic enough by singing the NA! Let me be clear, in reality the hate stemmed from people being turned off that some of these same women were fighting for equal rights for the LGBTQ+ community and equal rights for women in general, period. The hypocrisy in this country has gotten out of control, a country where everything has become narrative based and about culture wars

Disagree 3000% Alex Morgan should’ve been that roster. You focus on the Olympics then focus on anything long-term. You can face her out after the Olympics, but not taking her was absolutely a stupid choice. Kruger doesn’t bring anything to this team so she should’ve left behind and had Dunn be left as a defender. If this is a statement choice by Emma hayes it’s a poor one.

I like Jenny's take on the Korbin Albert issue, at least in principle. That Albert plays for a French club team certainly slows down the progress of moving beyond the rancor and upset Albert's social media intolerance caused. I suspect, unfortunately, that this is never going to go away, that she will continue to hear boos every time she steps on the pitch for the rest of her career. She's either going to have to learn to deal with it or perform some kind of public act of contrition that more than makes up for her behavior (hard to envision what that might be) or she is going to ultimately fail as a USWNT player. It's very hard to hear a chorus of boos from your own team's fans, especially when your sporting performance is quality. I have no idea what would silence those more vocal and militant fans, but there are only a few choices of how Albert and the team deal with that. It would be a shame, from a football perspective, if those who felt a sting and insult from Albert's social media communication won some kind of moral victory and forced her off the team. That would silence the boos - and I'm not sure anything less would silence the boos - but it would cause the team significant damage. Maybe that's the price to be paid for the lesson that intolerance will not be tolerated. (Oxymoron intentional.)

I don’t think it will even come to that. The midfield pool of talent is going to be what ultimately has her off the roster. She’s solid but there’s already talent that can replace her that don’t come with those distractions. I agree, I don’t think she’ll ever be embraced. Ultimately, this is her family’s doing. She was brought up with intolerant views and she shared them as a young player and it likely will follow her, her entire career. Maybe this will be a lesson learned and she breaks the cycle in her own family.

Jenny's take was a cop out. It felt as if we couldn't ask for a reasonable stern consequence and the only one was a permanent expulsion. We expect consequences for actions that tally with hate and bigotry and not a slap on wrist. From we are dealing with it in house from the captains to Emma hayes "let's embrace her", is that it?????. It seems a minimilazation of the issue.

I do think Alex Morgan’s career is over on the USWNT it is time to move on from the old washed up soccer players. Sorry to say I am not a fan of Alex Morgan to be quite frank. She use to be good but when you turn 35/36 years old it is time to pass the torch to the youngsters like Sophia smith or Morgan Weaver/Summer Yates just to name a few.
