Embracing Insecurity: Living with A Stutter | Kevin Pudjiadi | TEDxYouth@SWA

How does it feel if we talk without being able to finish a sentence? The mixture of embarrassment, discomfort, and being disrespected by those around you will be unavoidable.
In his talk, Kevin will share some stories about his experience living with a stutter. From the moment he felt the shame in the early days until finally, he is able to embrace and overcome his stutter in daily life. Kevin is the co-founder of various projects which include Leafwell Group, SwillFam, Haluu World, Warung Om Iwan, and Donkeverse.
Creating a strong team and specialising has been the core of his growth. He believes that if you want to fast, you go alone, but if you want to go far, you go together.
Being a serial entrepreneur, Kevin saw the importance of being able to work in a team as a vital skill to grow. Kevin graduated from UNSW with a triple major in finance, marketing, and hospitality, but primarily focuses his work on the financial aspect. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

I grew up with a stutter. I’ve learned to accept it and not let it stop me from achieving my goals. I teach, present, and do even perform music and poetry. Moses, one of the greatest men to live, had a speech impediment.

My stutter was severe until I realized half the stutter was me fighting the stutter. Its counterintuitive but real.

There is a comedian that had/has a very bad stutter due to a baseball accident. He worked on it for a long time and it's gotten WAY better. I'm pretty sure this guy even won America's Got Talent. Either way he proved that even with an injury caused stutter. He was able to reverse it in a way. There is many stuttering types out there. Me personally, I was never born with a stutter, but from me Streaming video games on Twitch my talking got very wild and off tracks. I noticed it last year and now I'm reversing it as of this month mainly. It's already improved a lot. Again I wasn't born with it... I actually developed it on accident by myself and now I can go back to reverse it. It's not bad at all. I can talk fine. just at times for sure it can get annoying

@@Justin-st5xv My stutter isn't really a stutter its more of a "speaking too fast" issue that I have. I do have a small stutter, but thats like a normal conversation stutter that happens. But from my twitch streaming it became really bad bceause I would speak so fast on stream and cram it all, which then carried into my real life a bit more. It has been getting better just within the last few weeks, but I still wanna "reverse" it to get back to what I was before the last 3 years. Everyone is different with it and I've talked to many people who had major stutters and now speak perfectly fine and some are even ACTORS now lol.

What has helped me tons is reading the book How To Run Your Own Life by Jut Meininger (as long as I apply it I eliminate it completely) (when you read it you'll realize that you have to turn off your Adapted Child state and little by little train your Parent state so your Adapted child doesn't intervene)... you can download it (they don't print it anymore)

Hey man, i do have a STUTTER, it's just you have you have to analyse what's exactly causing your stutter and work on those aspects such as, being more loud or being more expressive, what worked even better was using a kind of musical accent, if you've noticed few people who talk very expressively moving all of their facial muscles and using they're arms for gestures, etc. Anyway, if you read this reply, feel free to reply back, it'd be nice to speak to a person of the same "Genre" is what I put it as, it would actually be helpful,. All the best BTW 👍😀
