This was before the update so I just used fighter 2s. I don't really know how I won the air war with that. If you want a good fighter design against the ai now then just use the best single engine you can use and max out air attack and air defense. 2 engines are too expensive and not cost effective.

Nice job bro. Really impressive run. How did you make the game look like this though, seems much crisper than mine. Also, Spanish Civil War with light tanks? I generally go for mountaineers because of the lack of supply with fuel. EIther way, nice job!

I use Oasis Political Map and HOI4 - Texture Overhaul - Borders for my graphics mods. I use light tanks because I intended to use medium tanks later so I got panzer leader but I never ended up using the medium tanks later. I also just like encirclements.

Not bad, now try it on max difficulty with expert AI mod :p (i managed to hold for several years, but they capped the allies and it became an industrial war that i lost eventually)

I did this Challenge last week and it was super easy actually. You just have to rush to best fighter and best medium tank

I am making a guide on it right now. The Soviet Union is very overpowered in terms of industry if you do the focuses in the correct order though. For example I do the 5 year plan section last because it give construction debuffs in exchange for production buffs.

Interesting fact: If you make republicans win the Spanish civil war as the soviets, you can press a decision that transfers them to communist ideology, thus they can't oppose you threw their focus tree! Not game changing, but makes game less stressful.

All you need is good mediums with aa, and enough infantry to hold a frontline, and you're basically fine, against the ai atleast.

Dude, holding the front together for Republican Spain, you leave somewhere to go somewhere else, suddenly they collapse there due to lack of the *6 divisions* you had sent there.

In la resistance if you win the Spanish civil war as the Soviet Union and Republican Spain did the focus expand Soviet support then they will become your puppet after the war. They will eventually do some focuses to split away from you and you will get that event in the process to give you a staging point in the case you need to invade them after they try to break away.

Моя тактика в основу идёт как Неразрушимая оборона, примерно на той же линии обороны что и у тебя. Но я оставлял в тылу немца не преступные города, снабжая их по воздуху, не давая немцу нормального снабжения, а себе давая возможность катлить его с одного годора, к другому. Хотя есть тактика как расширение линии фронта до максимального размера. Я один раз, полностью окружил Европу, дания, Пруссия, бельгия, Нидерланды, норвегия, берег Франции, испания, Италия, африка и Греция. Во время войны я делал высодки, тем самым окружая немца и не давая союзникам воевать и зарабатывать варскор, чтобы забрать всё что окупирую. Как итог немец ничего не мог сделал с войной на 8 фронтов. Я же который играет через стратегию мяса, мог покрыть весь фронт, он в свою не мог это сделать

It just takes practice. You have to watch the enemy divisions and pin them when necessary, retreat your forces when necessary, hold and take valuable tiles, etc. I have 2.5k hours so I don't really even think about it anymore, it just comes naturally to me.

No tanks, I didn't have the research capacity at elite difficulty. Infantry was 22w with 1 aa and 1 artillery + support aa, support artillery, engineer, and logistics. You can also add support rocket artillery or interwar medium flame tanks if you want.

nice run, I wonder, since you get molotov-ribbentrop, dont you get like a full 3 extra years if played correctly to prepare for conflict?

No just 2 year. The German AI in historical mod will always strike Soviets in june or july 1941 unless they cant capitulate France then they wait with their war goal but that doesnt happen in historical maybe 1 in 100 games.

That was my first run and I expected to use tanks. You can see me research tanks at some point but I never used them, I just didn't have the research or production capacity at elite difficulty.

the main thing with expert is just that you have less stuff with a slightly harder ai (in terms of skill), and it also gives the ai cheats

How did you get to 350 factories by 1941?

I only had like 290 factories because it's elite difficulty. On normal difficulty I usually have somewhere around 400-420 factories by June 1941. The Soviet Union industrial tree is extremely overpowered if done in the correct order.

Its called "Additional Topbar Data - Reupload" on the workshop. I basically took that mod and modified it to make a custom version for myself so it is not public because I ripped off that mod.
