A favourite track of mine and a great review! Sadly, the female vocalist Denise Johnson passed away at the age of 56 in 2020. She was best known for her vocals on the iconic 'Screamadelica' album by Primal Scream

A song I think you will love is a gorgeous song. It kind of falls into maybe Americana or alt-country. It's called Captain Badass by Songs: Ohia. He's had work under different names too.
Love that tune. Takes me back to better times.

Another great female vocalist in a Manchester band called happy mondays is rowetta legendary sound's a bit like Denise johnson.

I think you should have played the video of this song, although it really doesn't do much for the song. It does help give the song a little more feeling.
