I missed how you re-sprung the brushes after in re-installing the armature. That is typically the trickiest part of the job. Pushing on them with your finger? You sure showed us how to loosen and tighten screws.

Yes. Pushing on them with your finger. It's easy to release.

I always pull the brush out of the holder until the spring pushes sideways on the brush, slide it over the armature, then push the brush into the holder allowing the spring to 'snap' on the top of the brush.

Buy a socket set man.
