Just a follow up to my plum quick rino motor burning up. They gave me $500 Back and recommended the Navitas 4 or 5kw AC conversion to do what we’re trying to do. I chose the 4kw AC kit by Navitas. I already had a 400 solenoid, added the new 600 ac controller and motor. It’s a beast ! Couldn’t be happier. In addition installed 2 48volt Falcon Elite lithium batteries. Costly but it was a fun project and have more cart than we ever thought possible. You only live once !

I did it to get him up the step hills where he lives. He doesn’t have a flat spot. He’s running all the suggested settings on the Navitas on the fly controller and speedometer set at 25mpg. He used to go up the hill at 5mph , now it goes 25mph not even trying. Haven’t even tried to push it. I know he could get the wheels off the ground but he’s happy just like it is for now.

Yeah, I'm pretty bummed about the whole ordeal. Navitas did contact me yesterday and they are gonna replace the controller free of charge, so Kudos to them for standing behind their product

For what it's worth, I have a Navitas 600 and "Street Riot" motor from Plum Quick. It's an absolute beast that does 32 mph on stock sized tires and gearing. Eventually I'll be replacing the aging Trojans with lithium and expect even a few more mph out of it. I was having some tuning issues and they asked for a data dump from the Navitas app and helped me figure it out. Perhaps that's an option?

I run a dedicated 12 volt so a voltage converter is not required. It has a plug for a trickle charger that I normally charge once a week

@@slingshotengageI can stay 36v; trying to get up to 21-23mph without being at full power, make my commute to local parks a little quicker. Stock I currently cruise around 15-18

I bought my nephew a new Rino motor from plum quick. He has a 2013 club car precedent with 600 amp Navitas Controller and 400amp solenoid, 22 inch tires and 1 year old Trojan batteries. We we’re trying to help him up the hills in the area of Georgia he lives in. He took it out to try it out for 30 - 40 minutes. When he came back it smelled burned. The next day I backed it out of the driveway and it didn’t feel right. I drive it around a little and it just totally died. I put the old motor back in and it ran fine. I called them and they sent me a return UPS on them which I thought was fair. After 2 weeks I emailed to see what the results were but had no response. A few days later I called and was told I would be updated the next day. No response yet. I hope this has a positive result but reading this doesn’t help. My motor was $880.00. Wish me luck !

Sorry to hear this Bill, I know all about the burning smell. I know Plum Quick motors have a great reputation, and hopefully you and your nephew don't end up where I did. I figured I was just unlucky and came up snake eyes. Please keep me posted on what happens. And thank you for tuning in Bill

@@slingshotengage Just wanted to follow up on my purchase from plum quick. As I said my nephew burned up the Rino motor in about 40 minutes on the maiden voyage. I returned it on their dime which I thought was good on their part. After some discussion we settled on a $500.00 back on the $880. I could have the money back or credited to another motor. Since my priority is to get my nephews cart up the Georgia hills were he lives I chose to apply it towards a Navitas DC to AC kit . Going with the 4KW motor. I already installed a 600amp controller but the kit has an AC controller I have to replace it with. So I have to sell the one I just installed to offset expenses. I’m ok with everything, nothing easy in life. Just hoping the new motor makes a difference. If it works well we’ll go for a set of lithium batteries to lighten the load. Thanks for listening, have a good day !
