EHX Mainframe | Demo and Review
Музыка
Electro-Harmonix created something really great with the Mainframe - I really can't get enough of this pedal and all the lo-fi goodness it produces.

I mention in the video that the background music is my attempt at making chiptune music - the songs and many others are available to stream on my album LEGACY: ampl.ink/N9KMp

It is certainly a rowdy pedal. I enjoy it. It’s not for everybody. If you like gritty, fuzzy, strangeness, check it out. I’d say it’s a must to have the EXP/PRESET button engaged. That’s where the fun is. Great playing and thanks for the video.

Thanks dude - yeah I feel like I need to do a follow-up on this video to dive deeper into some of the stuff I didn't go over, and also use an expression pedal with it - there's a lot it can do!

Aw dude. Please do. It’s a fairly hot pedal at the moment and I don’t see too terribly much about it’s functions. Tons of demos. But no breakdowns. No in depth stuff. I feel there are folks out there that’ll get it and become resentful or discouraged because there is nobody highlighting it’s capabilities or functions. I do have to say, though, you did some good shit with it. Once again, great upload. Awesome playing.
If Hendrix had had it things would have gotten even MORE interesting
Sweet! Cool video! Bring this pedal and yourself, and come play along me and my software! Your sound is perfect for it! Cheers.

Thanks dude, ya this pedal is a blast, it's really a lot of fun - I'm planning on eventually doing a video where I do a deeper dive into it.
any thoughts comparing this to the malecko scrutator?

Unfortunately I haven't tried any malekko pedals or any other bit crusher pedals - but I'd be interested in checking them out if I get the opportunity!

Wow that's generous! I'm committed to some things for the foreseeable future, but I might just take you up on that offer some time - the Mainframe is a pedal I definitely want to revisit for a deeper dive, and being able to compare it to some similar pedals would be helpful.
I was thinking of covering some songs in-full using the Mainframe - What songs should I cover in a lo-fi style? Let me know! Also what EHX pedal should I check out next?

@@MattPula Would you consider getting an EHX synth9 and placing it in front of the EHX mainframe in the signal chain? I reckon it would get you even closer to that video-game vibe that this pedal tries to emulate by allowing some of the dry synth sound through.
