    I’ll be honest, Chris Rock does not have the vocal range to do anything other than comedy. He just sounds like a cartoon character 99% of the time which really just keeps him as Chris Rock in any situation. You get someone like Robin Williams who could deepen his voice or raise it, but had such immense control at all times which really aided his transition to drama. Even Bill Burr when he is quiet can pull some gravitas out.

    It's not a vocal range issue because he doesn't suffer from some extremely specific medical condition that impedes him from deepening his voice. It's just pure lack of talent. Takes just a bit of time doing some vocal training to find your vocal range, but his default voice has served him well his entire career, why fkn bother working on it when going into entirely different projects am I rite

    Imagine establishing an eight movie pattern where the least interesting thing going on is the time wasting detectives who all pointlessly die at the end of the movie without accomplishing anything of consequence. Now imagine that in the ninth movie you make the detective the only plot line and expect people to get invested.

    @Zara-Bari I mean what even is Saw? It's just torture porn. You can basically make any kind of film as long as you slap some traps in it.

  • @Zara-Bari

    @Zara-Bari

    8 ай бұрын

    @@jcore0981 , well yes. At this point in the franchise there's really nothing you could do to change the formula that would make it better without making it not Saw. The unsatisfying endings, inescapable traps, the purported lessons people are supposed to learn but get killed anyway even if they learn them, there's really not a redeeming feature to it. But it sells, and I'm pretty sure that the selling point has never been waiting for the tech team to show up. You could probably cut the detective portions from a Saw film entirely and nobody would miss it.

  • @jcore0981

    @jcore0981

    8 ай бұрын

    @Zara-Bari But what I'm saying is you COULD make it interesting. For example, instead of stupidly killing off Donnie, have him be the central focus of Saw 5. The trap parts sucked anyway. It could be him and Strohm teaming up. You could probably get some good character interactions out of it as well. A cat and mouse dynamic could be really cool

    In some other stream they mentioned moving things around (forget why). Either way, I’m guessing they’re going to do an EFAP on Saw X tomorrow to coincide with this since it already released a month ago and waiting until next week seems like a poor idea. So if I’m right, it lines up perfectly.

    So... that first trap reminds me of my childhood... I stuck my tongue out and get it ripped off. So I will say from personal experience, its very likely that he'd go into shock, which would mean his tongue would be bleeding which leads to two more possibilities. Like for instance, choking on his own blood or if his mouth is open, because that could be how to handle the blood so it pours out of your mouth rather than down your throat blood lose. Tongues can be hard to stem the bleeding with just your hands, very squishy organ. So while probably not as bad for long term life, as tongues can be reattached and even tissue transplants from elsewhere on your body will allow doctors to recreate it, in the short time losing your arm would be more survivable. As you can do things to stem the bloodflow of the reminder of the limb easier than your tongue. Unless you know what your doing with the tongue. In which case its a different story.

    Long story but okay. Well. ripped is a lie. I was a young child. Thought I was tough shit and climbed this climbing thing, we call them Monkey Bars here where I live but in America I'm pretty sure Monkey Bars are a different thing. Anyway, so I climbed up on top of it. And was told by this girl who'd lived in the same estate as I did to come down. So I stuck my tongue out and leaped between the bars and twisted in the air to fit through them at the same time. This was fucking stupid. As if I had gone down the normal way, I'd been fine. But as it is my tongue got caught being stuck out and my jaw slammed shut. Then I blacked out from the pain. My blood covering my neck down to my shoes when I woke up. My tongue was in a ice box across the room. Then the people who'd I'd gone to this part with, as a Summer Camp/scheme thing, decided to ask me; "DO YOU KNOW WHO YOUR DOCTOR IS?" ... I replied with a very reasonable series of mumbles BECAUSE MY TONGUE WAS IN THE BOX ACROSS THE ROOM! Then they didn't even send me to the hospital. They sent me to a local MD, who sent me to the closet Hospital. And then the nice Doctor that put my tongue back on explained to me how lucky I was to be alive... I was six, so very terrified with this all. It was only then that my dad arrived and he... well, he had some words for everyone ejit involved and the summer scheme thing never opened again. @@Sue20022010

    Just so you guys know Chris Rock ripped off Fargo Season 1 when making this movie. He was also a fan of that show and starred in the abysmal Season 4. There is a similar thing in that show where a character is tied up by the villain and made to look like he has a gun so then a bunch of police shoot that guy. But it's a lot more believable because the guy is inside a house and you can't really see him at all except his shadow. Plus the gun is shooting at them. So yeah that ending is double trash because it's plagiarizing something done much better.

    46:58 - That's hilarious. Sam Jackson out of reflex when confronted with someone putting a bag around his head raises his gun to where a person would naturally assume the assailants head is. Instead of doing the scene one more time and telling Sam to aim a little higher they just made the gun miraculously move in post. Must have been less expensive to pay some underpaid effects department than risk keep Samuel Jackson on set for a second too long. BTW, the correct decision here to avoid all of this is to unironically write better. Make a scene where pigman is at no risk of being shot.

    Microsoft Sam would be a better voice than that. Like, if there was a trap with spinning blades and he went “My ROFL copter goes SWOH SWOH SWOH” it would be kinda unnerving. Because it’s a very goofy thing but a very serious situation. Would give the impression he’s psychotic and enjoys torturing people… at the very least, it would be more entertaining.
