Edward seems almost possible. There are some pretty wild stories about conjoined twins. Two faces, one brain, only one controls the movement, but both have access to the thought processes and the other face can control his own mouth. I think that has some believability to it. Also, JK Rowling totally stole this guy's evil face for the Philosopher's Stone.

If it were an underdeveloped twin who's brain merged with Mordrake's at the hypothalamus it could communicate directly to Mordrake's brain. In other words it could think to him. Even without a mouth of its own.

There's a pair of conjoined twins I believe their name is Hogan. One can actually hear what the other is thinking due to their linked hypothalamus. They are joined at the head and share a lot of brain tissue... If Mordrake posessed simply his twins brain and face. The opposite face might poses its own consciousness. Learning and feeling life along with him... However, without the formation of its own throat or direct access to the wind pipe. That twin could never speak... However it could, learn and react. And if the hypothalamus was linked they could "think" to each other inside the same head. I imagine it would be a large head but it isn't impossible. I think the medical condition is called "diprosopus" or having a second face on ones skull... Believe it or not there's a TV show from The Philippines called Cara Mia that explores what this would be like... Except in Cara Mia the secondary face can speak, and the primary and secondary speak to each other vocally... They share ears though... Imagine that existance for Mordrake and for Cara, in the show, life is relatively normal except for hiding a second face.... But what about the life of the second face. Isn't it just as human as the primary? A strange thought.

@@user-hv6dv6wh7v extremely believable. It’s not like Ed killed himself out of shame. His twin didn’t get to live her life so she tortured him until he took both of theirs. It’s like lugging around a certain suicidal someone in a lucid coma. That can still talk to you in a way.

Mordrake's condition sounds disturbingly similar to the jinmenso of Japanese mythology and folklore. Supposedly a jinmenso was a face shaped boil or sore which caused excruciating pain to the victims body and the pain could only be alleviated by feeding human foods to the face-sore. Some have claimed that the human faced sore was a sentient creature, like a thinking parasite.

I immediately thought of The Legend of Dorian Grey from the thumbnail. Imagined the second face sucking up all effects of Mordrake's sins, slowly becoming uglier while this handsome, charming man rose to prominence in society, while involved in all sorts of charities & philanthropy work. All his works would always end in failures, though not because of Mordrake. That is until the end when you find the evil face has been the one in control the whole time, he is the real Mordrake, causing disaster everywhere & showing the upper class their pretentiousness, hypocrisy, & indifference to most of society. Wow, good legend. Had me, & other commenters, spinning their own stories.

@Rusty Shackleford I know billions of people study occultism before, some even practice it. It's just occultism isn't being looked up very high in modern ages as they are more focused on science, philosophy and stuff that is easily more natural to control and understand.

Have you ever heard of the 16th Century account of the monster of Ravenna? It supposedly had a single horn upon its head, two bat-like wings, a serpentine and hermaphrodic lower body, a single eye set in its knee and an eagle like claw for a foot (this makes Mordrake look pretty normal by comparison). The "creature" was interpreted as a symbol of moral decay.

While the story is probably fictitious, the basic elements of the story arent entirely unbelievable. Parasitic twins are an interesting phenomenon. Theres a lot of weird things that happen in this world that we would disbelieve even if we saw it with our own eyes. Compared to some of the mysteries of life this guy os practically ordinary.
