Cronus: The Terrible Titan (Greek Mythology Explained)

Ойын-сауық

Cronus may very well have hated his father Uranus from the very beginning, but some believe he was more virtuous and chose to defend his mother Gaia and free his siblings from Tartarus, by turning against his father and casting him out.

Cronus was a hero for overthrowing his father Uranus and freeing the Cyclops (one-eyed giants) and the Hundred-handed Ones. The Golden Age of Man began, when Titans and mortals coexisted together in harmony. This must be the primordial Dreamtime when Heaven and Earth were in easy communication with each other and mortals could go to Heaven (outer space) without dying, similar to Enoch and Isaiah! That must have been an exciting time to be ALIVE!!!😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇

I just figured that every time, one of them beings takes over the power of their respective fathers, they change to a be exactly as tyrannic as they once, the being they were afraid of, were and they lost everything for power as you said. But it’s so scary to see this. It’s like a curse…They seek justice, free the victims to become the tyrant and the story is repeating itself, again and again. First with Ouranus and Kronos. Then with Kronos and Zeus and then with Zeus and Athena since he swallowed her and she was born from him because he was afraid she would do the same exact thing he did to his father (even if she didn’t succeed). Also both of Kronos and Zeus were the last born…and they both married their sister respective sisters…so (correct me if I am wrong, there is a lot of stories and sometimes I get mixed up lmaoo. Thank you for reading !)

It is so difficult to find good info on Chronos; well done, and I look forward to the rest of this series!!! One important detail of his 'life' that struck me repeatedly while listening is that he's the first to experience cyclical scenarios: in experiencing his brother cyclopes injustice he perpetuated selfish motivation in a lust to maintain power, when removing his father's 'dignity' he began the sequence of bloody betrayal against kinsmen, whilst performing attempted filicide (in a way Ouranous tried the opposite by putting his children back where they came from) originated the fear of loss, and of course his eventual assigned position to begin measuring time from start to finish. Indeed here was a Titan worthy of distinguish, because were it not for many of these firsts our very human nature would not be as it is today, and but for the work that he allegedly continues unto this day our existence would cease to be a reflection of Gaia's offspring. Theologically and metaphysically this entity is the personification of time, even before his son condemned him to such a fate.

Cronus/Kronos is the archetype of the Dark Father bent on bottomless greed and hunger. His sickle represents the harvesting of souls and arrival of the next generation; after the castration of his father, the time as perceived by gods and mortals begins and the fear of death and the unknown darkness is stirred in their hearts.

Oranos was motivated by sheer vanity and pride within himself, that I doubt he ever even considered a rival to the throne an actual possibility. The ambition of Kronos is expressed when a council among Gaia and the Titans are held to see who would step up, and kill their own father (and brother). Kronos was the only one to not hesitate, and went so far as to humiliate his manhood through full-on castration. I do not believe Kronos had any heroic intentions other than to glorify himself in the first place.

I have no doubt, that Gaea helped Zeus overthrow Cronus, just like she helped Cronus overthrow Oranus. Especially, when Zeus was told to go to the Hecatoncheires and treat them not as monsters, but with respect and familial ties. Thus they helped Zeus beat the Titans. I do think Gaea was the one who suggested to Zeus what to do. It must have broken her heart, that Cronus became like Oranus.

  • @FB-eg5vb

    @FB-eg5vb

    3 жыл бұрын

Yes it’s almost like each generation gets weaker. Kronos had to kill Oranus in a surprise attack with Gaea’s sickle and Zuse had to outsmart Kronos by getting him to drink a potion to throw up his brothers and sisters. You can also see why Zuse wanted of the information from Prometheus. Because he was seeing a pattern both his father and grandfather got overthrown.

Cool video, but Greek mythology is pretty crazy when you imagine these stories in a literal way (and didn't many ancient Greeks actually believed these stories in a literal sense?).. I mean, Gods shoving their children back in the womb, eating them, God getting castrated by his son, etc... seems pretty weird and messed up.

  • @humanity600

No. If you do research you'll see that deities in original (?) Christianity were much like Islamic jinn. That is, they could choose whether to be good or bad. Venerating them was fine, but even then flat out worship was considered a little wierd (to put it simply).

If you were to compare the gods or titans to anything from Christianity, it would be the apostles. Every religion stems originally from astrotheology. Almost all religions had a system of 12, which later became monotheistic. Baal, Moloch are actually names for the same being, who actually would be comparative to Zeus, as both were the chief deities in their respective pantheons.

I like to think that some myths have a kind of inspiration on true events: - the great flood. Keeping in mind the location of this myth (in the fertile circle of the middle east) and all the other mythologies and religions in that place that have a "flood myth", maybe in a age where the valley of the tigrus and euphrates were the "whole world", both rivers flooded at the same timeand shit happened. - Abel and Cain. An abrahamic myth where a sheperd and a farmer, brothers, were in a conflict of ideals and the sheperd, although he "won" the conflict by killing the farmer, was punished. This could have basis on a real conflict between proto-jews (the sheperds who need land to feed the cattle) and some sort of group who was aldready farming and then the sheperds killed the farmers for their land but then were exiled. Remember that although a civ had a pantheon of gods didnt mean that one person would adore ALL gods. Yaweh could have started to be a god in a patheon, adore mostly by sheperds, but after this theorical conflictand the sheperds banishment it became a lonely god, and the religion of the sheperds went from poly to monotheistic. Hell, maybe the sheperd still adore various gods and then, in time fuse them into one. - the titanomancy. This could be the reflection of the first "kings" of the proto greeks and their court war... sons agaisnt the father in order to become kings earlier, fathers protecting their position... etc etc... Im an athiest that finds religion fascinating. the creation of gods, to me, shows that for a long time the human mind is searching for a reason for thing to happen.

Something often overlooked is the manifestation of these events throughout different races in different locations with slight variances but similar purpose. The flood for instance was described in numerous cultures with varying characters but similar purpose and reasoning. We are of one being and this being has been telling us the story for a long time.

December 22nd the Sun sinks to its lowest point in the Southern Hemisphere where it appears to stand still for 3 days on a constellation called the Southern Cross. On December 25th it rises in alignment with the Eastern star Sirius and Orions Belt also known as the 3 Kings and moves one degree North marking the resurrection of the Unconquered Sun (Sol Invictus) or Birth of the New Sun. Old Testament? It's Cronos, Israel the ancient Phoenician word for Saturn. The Sabbath or God's Day is Saturday aka Saturn's Day (just as Christians worship on SUNDAY). The Tifflin Cubes Hebrews pray with. Mecca is a giant black cube that is the house God resides in. Black Cube of Saturn. Good KZread channel Sun of Saturn has videos connecting it all together with academic sources. And when you get into the Occult side you see even more proof. Take the "Keys of Solomon" for example. There's Planetary Correspondence and Planetary hours for the Spirits to be invoked. They're the energy of the stars that you can tap into to raise your consciousness to Cosmic Consciousness. The Institution hid this and made us become materialist and taught Astro-theology as history. But now that the truth is coming out on history. Logical people blow off the Gods not realizing myth is metaphors and allegorical. Or they think they're aliens which is pretty stupid if you ask me. I believe in aliens but if they were physical beings and let all these Religions crop up definitely not our friends. But I know for a fact as someone deep into Occult and Esoteric study and practice the stars are the Gods As Above So Below, As Within So Without, As the Universe, So the Soul When you Truly understand that than you got the basics figured out

Crazy how after 1000’s of years these stories still stand true. It’s so easy to work your ass off for 20 years and become complacent even tho there is much more for you to give. Just as well as other ppl who ever never worked hard and need to improve their lives by simply pushing themselves to beyond where they have been. I destroyed myself for 10 years so my wife could get a nursing degree… worked another decade to set my 4 kids up for success but now I am falling short even tho I am only 36 years old. The stories of old have a heavy presence on the current. Incredible how that works through generations !
