Once here when I owned a large deck I had such a hail storm I filled three large coolers with hail stones. Kept my beer cold for close to a week.

We had hail like that in Citrus Heights and Roseville, CA bk in 2012 and usu ev March. Made the whole streets and lawns white for an hour or so and just this freezing cold. I loved it! Never had my windshield crack however.

I rented a Mazda 3 once. Full insurance. On the interstate was a hail storm so bad the entire intestate of traffic stopped. No one was moving. At least fifty cars just sitting still. Later, I pulled the car (which was brand new like 200 miles) into the airport and the guy smiled and looked like "bro what did you do?" The car was seriously destroyed. Every window smashed, dents the size of baseballs, just destroyed. I handed him the keys and thanked him for the nice ride. I always get that insurance. You could drive those cars into a wall and ask them to bring you another (check to make sure that's true first).

Hail like this and bigger (some almost as big as golf balls) really messed my car up. Got thoudands from the insurance company to fix it. My dad knew a paintless dent repair guy who did it for $1200 and I pocketed 3 grand. This was decades ago so the statute of limitations has expired and I can talk about it now.

Phoenix AZ had a pretty huge hailstorm like that back in October 2010. Something over 150,000 cars, houses and other small buildings were seriously damaged by the hail. These storms are wild!
