EDC | Holosun 507C X2 Review | Navy SEAL | Jason Pike | 2022

In this video I go over the Holosun 507C X2. I talk about the features, how they are applicable to operations and things I am not so fond of.
The audio is a little pitchy on this video. 🙏

I bought this exact model red dot because of this video and I’ll say I think it is better than the RMR for the simple fact that I don’t have to take the entire red dot off of the gun to change the battery and then resight it in. Huge benefit that I think is overlooked and under appreciated

The Best review I’ve seen on the 507C X2 and educational. You sir provided additional in others didn’t cover. I like the fact you clarified the “made in China” issue & history. I own 3 optics from Holosun and they work great. Holosun customer service is excellent also. For the price point I couldn’t ask for more. You got my 👍🏻 and my subscription & referral 😎

Jason hit every nail on the head with this review. I, too, got sucked into the lore of, "if it ain't Merican', it's shit!" while we watch a Trijicon RMR review on our Chinese phones. I picked up a HS507C-X2 Green off a Marketplace steal for brand new and proceeded to absolutely obliterate a 30 yard IPSC silhouette with the hostage target the size of my hand - doling out lasers and flipping it back and forth with a Boogeyman Customs LaLlorona G22 build that I built just to make the 9MM fanboys squirm. Chinese or what, this optic SLAPS, period. Don't forget, you might have $40,000 pano NVG's but you'll still get smoked in the Boogaloo by a dude with good cardio and a SKS with open sights who's been shooting that gun at the local gamelands since 2004.

I had my gen 3 G19 slide milled by ATEi for my RMR. I've since changed the battery twice and have not needed to re-zero. I love the RMR. Having said that, I recently met someone at the range with HOLOSUN 507C-X2 ACSS Vulcan. Now I want one. With the RMR, if I'm squared up I will always find the dot. But one handed, leaning on an object, on my rear - then I may have to fish a little. This reticle is very interesting.

Just got one and fired some rounds with it. I'm glad I bought it. My only issue is with the auto brightness. I tried it in a low light setting and it works great until YOU are the one in the light trying to shoot something in a low lit area. The reticle gets too bright, and blocks out what you're aiming at. So I'm fine with a low-mid brightness setting. Other than that, I think it's a good buy

  • @JonesFamilyRanch

I bought the 507k X2 a year ago, the smaller model, and concur with everything you mentioned. The 507k doesn't have solar or other features, and it requires a modified RMR plate. I find level 5/6 to be best as well, otherwise the brightness overwhelms or gets lost against the target. Age too has affected my eyes, hence my new attraction to red dots over iron sights. I do find green easier on the eyes, especially outdoors. As you mentioned just easier to pick up. For me, the red setting tends to get lost against outdoor backgrounds. I do prefer the 32MOA over the 2MOA, - old eyes and I do not think it likely that I will need to engage targets much beyond 30 yards with a compact 9mm. The combo 32+2MOA is definitely information overload on the brain.

I love my 507c Gr acss vulcan reticle. One thing you didn't bring up that I've wondered about is the durability of the solar panel. If that baby takes a well placed impact what will the collateral damage be to the optic as a whole. So far I kinda like the auto brightness feature, but I will admit I haven't tried using one locked setting. Your right about going through your house and getting rid of everything not made in the U.S. You'd be naked as a jay bird sitting in an empty house. I look forward to your videos, thanks.

this is a solid breakdown thank you sir! i recently picked one of these up I love it! I can sympathize with complaints that the auto feature tends to make the reticle too dim so i run it in manual mode. Looking into to it apparently the solar feature only works in auto mode which is a bummer, don't know if it's a limitation of the hardware or a design choice.

Holosun Optics have really been super solid . The 509T-ACSS is my favorite optic for Pistols or top Hat mount on Carbine . The only reason why RMR is so good is the design patent . That's why they are so rugged and durable . Holosun Red dots are the only dots I use for the most part . I do have 1 RMR . I definitely favor the doughnut of death reticles and ACSS . Yeah I've never understood those idiots that say I only buy Made in USA . Yet they are rocking Made in China Phone , TV , and Laptop . That NIB blade looks pretty awesome bro . I ditched the Vortex Viper after 6 years of service for this optic. The biggest issues with the Vortex is that it has manual locking screws that sit in front of the irons so you have to remove the dot to try and zero it or replace the battery, not to mention the adjustment screws are trash. It holds zero but getting it zeroed is a nightmare.

15 yard zero. But start with a laser bore sight first to get it really close and then take it to the range and make the remaining adjustments. Slaving it to your front sight will cause height over bore to be way off. And even then, these optics require you to learn height over bore at close range and long range so you can account for every round.

My opinion on the Chinese products… I’m not upset at the Chinese, I’m more upset that American made items aren’t made at the same quality, for the same features, for the same price. “AmEriCaN iS mAdE bEtTeR. ThAtS wHy yOu pAy mOrE.” Ok… but as the end user, made “better” does me no good if I can’t afford it. That’s a poor excuse for not wanting to compete price wise. Holosun is currently wiping the floor with Trijicon’s face. And if trijicon or any other American made optic wants to step their game up, they’ll need to maintain their quality, at a lower price point. Sure, American made would be cool. But it isn’t cool enough to me to spend another $200 more for. I’ll gladly stick with my Holosun 😂

I have a brand new 507c that has only been on my Glock for 200 rounds, it’s been about a month or 2 and I’ve replaced the battery twice because of failure. I only have it on the recommended brightness or a little more when outside. Just replaced the battery yesterday and it’s already dead today. Piece of shit is broken, BRAND NEW.

Great content n it's unfortunate we have everything these days made in China but it's reality that they wrk for less and can live and survive happily over there meanwhile here we wrk for so little and and!!!! Everything's price keeps increasing, so of course we not gonna wrk for the few dollars the Chinese do it for we just have to accept it and hopefully the government can make the changes that allow us to happily buy and live off all American made products and supplies till then if a country does it better and for less I can't complain or hate on em we should be thanking them

What's crazy is that, sure we'll all accept China products will be cheaper than US made products, but companies like Holosun are innovating leaps and bounds about American companies (ex. Leupold). That was our domain.

Is it a made in the USA only argument or is it a made in China argument? I laugh because some will say the Aimpoint is great(and they are) but they will make an exception to their made in the USA if they feel a product is better, or more expensive. I get it, I too wish there was more USA products. But this is a very different world we live in compared to 20-30 years ago. I have plenty of EOTECH’s and Trijicon’s but I also have Primary Arms and Holosun products. So far in the last 10 years they all have worked.
