Eaton RTLO16913A Transmission rebuild pt 1

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Change of plans, owner had a 13 speed that was a way better candidate for a rebuild than the 18 speed we pulled from it.

You videos make me laugh Warren.. every time I am really getting into what your doing they end.. I get so into what your doing That I loose track of time.. and bang 40 minutes are gone in 10 minutes to me.. I love to do this kind of work and have since the 60's.. But I am way to old and broken to do it now.. SO thanks a million for helping this old man keep his hand in it as it were..💯

I love the rather elegant design of those boxes. It’s a Engineering principle that it’s more difficult to design something to do a particular task in a Simple way, than to engineer it overly complicated which is easier to do but definitely not better.

I agree. Those transmissions are nice to work on I remember the first one I ever took apart. I was laying it out piece by piece on plywood and the old timer I was working under came a flipped the plywood. And said. Your not going to learn how it goes doing it that way I was so pissed But after that every other one I did all the parts just went in a heap never had one not work that old timer taught me so so much he was a talented man probably forgot more than I know Keep up the awesome videos Warren

I like Roadranger repairs, they're such a simple transmission, well-designed and robust. Plus you have options for how to assemble by mixing and matching, overdrive vs. direct vs. double o/d, etc. They made them as small as 600ftlb which is ideal for a pickup application up to and beyond 1600 (probably higher than that these days as it's been years since I did one). 8,9,10,13,18 speeds

Warren, watch for oil passages under the bell housing. When you switch a bell housing between a halo and non Halo( halo is the ring oil pipe) there are oil ports that need to be plugged or it will leak oil into the bell housing.
