Eating ONLY FILIPINO FOOD For 24 HOURS! BRITISH Family SIARGAO
Filipino Food is not well known where we come from! As a British family living in the Philippines (also being Vegan too), we thought eating only Filipino food for 24 hours would be a challenge. But we ended up being surprised by how the day turned out.
Living on Siargao island is the best place to test out this little fun experiment with food because recently there are many new restaurants that have discovered ways to cook traditional Filipino foods using Vegan Meat / Dairy free recipes.
For example:
Vedya Siargao vedyasiarga... Where we ate Vegan Tocino for breakfast &
Cosmic Siargao / cosmicsiargao Where we had Vegan Bagnet, Longanisa and Isaw too
Hope you learned something from our Filipino Food Challenge day :-)
And huge thanks to Pepitos Art Hotel / pepitosart.hotel for letting us burn off those extra calories swimming in the pool :-D
Our names are Jmayel, Sacha & Story. We traveled to Siargao island with Jmayel's mum & Story's grandma just before the Global pandemic that sent the whole planet into quarantine. We got stranded for months and fell in love with island life, now we want to make that life more permanent.

I do agree that we have a good coffee beans in the Philippines and in my opinion they are underrated. Furthermore we are one of the few countries in the world that grows the four main varieties of coffee. They are robusta, arabica, liberica and excelsa. Thanks for trying filipino food at last.

True
How wonderful of you to try Filipino cuisine (which is a combination of Spanish, Chinese, Thai)! I’m impressed with the variety of food in the island especially the vegan choices. But what really impressed me is the “green” cutlery which seem to be made of coconut wood/husk! Considering how the western world is still using plastic cutlery that is destroying the planet, it’s amazing that parts of the Philippines is now using “green” cutlery! Excellent!
If you love pure black coffee, I recommend "Kapeng Barako" from Batangas.
Siargao really does seem to be tailormade for you guys! So much vegan options, we don’t have a lot of those up north of the Phil. You should try lumpiang sariwa, Sacha will surely love it with the peanut sauce and all ❤️

seeing you buying pandecoco made me to order pandecoco from my friend here in England today :-), it's my favourite filipino bread as well :-)
for snacks, you can have banana que, turon, carioca, suman, ginataang halo-halo (which contains a bunch of ingredients like plantain, sweet potato,, jack fruit, glutenous rice flour balls, tapioca, coconut milk and sugar.

I've been watching your vlogs from Hong Kong. Actually, I'm a Filipino who was born and raised up here in Hong Kong. Didn't know that Filipino dishes have Vegan ones, great for you all to enjoy Filipino food. Love watching your vlogs.
I love watching you guys eating filipino food. And you knew what to order. Keep vlogging
So happy to know that there are getting more options of vegan foods. 😍 You can find Pan de coco in other places outside Siargao....It's a popular bread nationwide.🤩 If you go to Bicol region, they have lots of spicy foods....even spicy ice cream.... Try to ask if they sell Bicol Express in other restaurants...🤩
Its lovely to see Story getting confident in the water. I wish I'm in Siargao right now. Here in UK is getting colder. These food looks delicious, my vegetarian grown up children would love Siargao definitely. Enjoy your time lovely family Jay, Sasha and Story...xxx

Those Filipino vegan food are awesome and my favourite pan De coco is always a sought after baked goody even here in the Middle East. I love Story's description of her food. ♥️
Hello Jay ..Sacha and Story...happy to see u enjoying your stay in Siargao and enjoying also our foods.. Stay safe always..Gbu all.
Oh man!! Soooo envious….super! I can feel the taste of pan de coco! I enjoyed watching your vlogs. Take care guys and keep safe
As a child who was raised vegan and a vegan far into adult hood. I started getting some severe deficiencies … I cooked all my own food, I was very deliberate about my health and my intake of nutrition. It wasn’t until I was older did I start to see the destruction a vegan diet had on my health. I actually struggled with my relationship with my parents. Angry they denied me rich animal cholesterol for my brain! I started to develop. Alzheimer type symptoms because my brain was devoid of cholesterol. My cholesterol level was 102 I finally healed after 6 years of incorporating Animal nutrition got my cholesterol up to 160… all my inflammation disappeared. I am fortunate to be able to eat grass fed free range… please consider eggs, full fat dairy, that would help Story’s developing brain so much. Love you guys and I am glad I am able to share my Story! ;) 💕
This is a cute vlog. Really enjoy you 3 are adorable 🥰. Simple Vegan recipe for you. 1) cut up Califlower. Saute . S&P. GARLIC. TURMERIC POWDER. 🌶️ CHILI'S. add: COCONUT CREAM. Boil. Serve with RICE.
I’d like to try those vegan foods that have meat replacements. Interesting
Wow, Filipino food has evolved. I would love to try those dishes. There are many Filipino dishes that are made vegan like salads made with banana heart flower with Thai chilies, sea grapes or Lato salad, Guso seaweed salad. You might want to try making a vegetarian fresh lumpia. Pan de Coco is widely available in Filipino stores here in North America but it’s a hit and miss.
So lovely family enjoy your holiday in PHILIPPINES and eating Filipino food. Keep safe guys
Yeah! Pan de COCO is available mostly in the bakery shop everywhere in the Philippines.
Big worries in our house as to the whereabouts of that dear little puppy Poppy. How is her health.
Watching u guys enjoying eating pilipino food makes me hungry!! Hello from hongkong I'm always waiting your vlogs everyday!! Hugs for story 😘😘😘
Pan de coco was like that before anywhere in the Philippines until it enter the mainstream bakery or r it's hard to supply locally shredded coconuts by volume & it will be spoiled by 24 hours so it should be produced in commercial variety that's why the commercial ones are more of dessicated coconut in texture
Yummy pande coco bread common here in Philippines coz we have Coconut plantation even exported to other Countries…
I enjoy watching you eating with fave food. May God bless us all.
Love watching you guys. seems like i was with you traveling the Island paradise of Siargao too. Pan de covo my all time Favorite Bread😍. enjoy!
Looks so good , Adobo is Pinoy dish thats really good with different version by each region.Enjoy
Definitely trying all those vegan Pinoy foods when I get there!!
So happy to see you guys eating Pilipino foods❤️💚
After looking at those Filipino vegan dishes, I'm not sure if Jay & Sasha really like most of them, but they do look good.I want to have that pan de coco from the island though.Story is cute as she can be.Stay safe !
Ive been a filipino vegetarian in transition to vegan. So much infos ive learned from you where vegan foods are available in Siargao. I like your beautiful daughter shes smart! May God bless your family always.

Wow thank you for trying different filipino food ...we really appreciated it...

Huge thank you for loving Filipino food ...stay all safe 8 miles and God bless ...hugs for Story ..
I am in awe to find out they have vegan food! But of course, Siargao is a tourist destination! They have to provide with the tourist demands! Would surely visit next time!
I love the way Story is tasting the food.....your correct Pan de Coco is much tastier when you buy that at the locals...hope that poppy is recovering soon..
You can find Pan de Coco everywhere but that might be different because it is baked using the coconut husk. The roasted aroma I think would add to the yumminest of the bread. Hope to try it someday. Love the Filipino Vegan feature 😍
You can also try cooking adobong sitaw. It's basically string beans cooked in soy sauce and vinegar with pieces of pork but you can put fried tofu instead of pork. Adobo in the Philippines is anything cooked in soysauce and vinegar. It's different from mexican adobo
Amazing vegan choices! Yum!
Always waiting for your vlogs.

I am craving for lumpia; chicken adobo and chicken sisig. Drooling while watching.😋😍
For a second I really thought you’ll be eating meat dishes. I’m glad that you can easily find vegan options there. I like the adobo one, looks delicious 🤤
You're in the Best Island in Asia! If you want to know, I think the most original Filipino coffee is Kapeng Barako :)
Hello J, Sacha, Story and Poppy. 👋
Pan de coco is generally available everywhere in the Philippines. Beware as some are filled with coco jam (kinda sweet) instead of grated coconut. The best ones are the ones bought off the roadside, freshly made. A Japanese friend thought that the pan de coco I bought off a vendor in Olango island was very good, very fresh (home made), better than the bakery ones. As for Pinoy vegan food, up northern Luzon, the Ilocanos are known to a have a lot of dishes with variety of vegies. Just take off the meat, fish or whatever, and you have vegan meal.
Good morning Story no skip adds here take care and God Bless.
Mmmmmm. Everything looks yummy!
Thanks to your family to visit the Philippines for your vacation . Enjoy to eat Filipino foods..
It seems Story is a good girl and I think she can do her own vlog... She has ability to talk in front of camera that people will love to listen her😍
Jay the Batangas coffee is also good! They have the Liberica coffee. In 1850’s Batangas and Cavite is the only importer of Liberica coffee to the US and Europe particularly Spain, France & Great Britain.

Glad to see people all over the world eating Filipino food.
I miss pandecoco. It's so wonderful to know there's a log of vegan restaurants in Siargao....
You both are the best parents.
I think story mentioning Capiz..type of wood that also use for household things like plates and cups
yeah!!! thank you...
Watching from japan. So happy for you guyd.
I love pan de coco, actually I bake them myself, but never seen them bake from the husk of coconuts, I wish I could learn how to bake using coconut husk. Yummy....
Love this🥰
Story is so cute and when she smiles, she smiles she's so adorable.
The inside of pandecoco is made from pomace of the grated coconut. You have to cook it with sugar…you can add some flavoring too if you want.
You should try lumpiang gulay!! My fave. You can even do it yourself. You only need togue, baguio beans, camote, and lettuce. When you wrap it you need to put some peanut butter on the edge of the wrap. Yum
Hello.. Wondering what was Sacha dinner of? Tofu or?? Looked really yummy 😋
Thanks for patronizing filipino food... Love it!!!
I love watching your vlogs🥰
That breakfast spread / set you have had is uniquely impressive. Siargao is so hip, with some restaurants serving vegan dishes.
