Awesome Necron Summoning Cores! Now... I challenge you to make a piece of Tau terrain. For the Greater Good!

Challenge accepted...but it will have to wait till I am ready! I have nothing planned at the moment!
A nice build. Glad to see use of knife as well as hot wire.

Unless I am doing like more of a "big build" video, I don't plan on showing anything that isn't done with a knife. The hot wire cutter is just so I can mass produce multiple for videos etc. Thanks :)
Alternative paint scheme tip: Mask off the recessed green strips with tape. Then use rocky spray paint as a base coat. (There is such thing as rocky textured spray paint that is used to spray paint the bases of desk lamps). Then dry brush blacks and greys over the top before finishing the green with the edge highlights on the dark stone parts.

I do have some textures sprays but I wouldn't have thought about using them here, but that's a cool thought.

@@TerrainMadeEasy When you heavily dry brush over them you get a more uniform texture. So, it feels like one solid flat rock. I will say that I used this technique to paint chunks of bark to look like rocks. So, there may be a different result on foam. (My original comment was made with beginners to the hobby in mind. I thought you might of heard of the textured sprays).

@@jwec9867 heh sorry, I am used to people just talking to me rather than anyone reading it! I would love to see your results if you wanted to post pics on discord or facebook :)

@@TerrainMadeEasy I might just do that, although I wouldn't expect anything soon. I'm surprisingly busy for someone in lockdown. Nice talking to you.
Dude you’re the man, super creative!

Glorius work. I was glad to see the stream, and I love your battle damaged one. That kind of shaded painting is a bear to get to look right, and the one thing I have learned in my terrain making journey is this: You can't unpaint something, but by golly, you sure can repaint it!

Hey jyoung, stream was great, should be a weekly thing. And yeah that's solid, I have repainted a few things in my time.
Great tutorial and I really liked the stream!

Glad to hear it! Should be semi regular I hope :)
Awesome looking terrain Jay! As a die hard Necron fan, I'll be knocking up a few of these for the new edition. Great use of the pipe to cut holes too! Pipes are generally measured from their inside diameter, so your 28mm pipe is sold as 25mm, sorry I work in the water industry and I couldn't resist!
@TerrainMadeEasy

My pipe was 21.5 so whatever that would be! And thanks, it's fairly simple if you have the foam and I think it looks pretty decent :)
Bro your terrain looks great dont be so hard on yourself...you produce great content that has kept me entertained regularly boss! Keep it up boss

@@TerrainMadeEasy it's good for people to see as well when building terrain there is a process sometimes and that we dont always get it exactly right on the first try...so I do think it is as important to share our failures as well as the triumphs and everything inbetween

@@wolfling_conceptions415 Sure, you don't have to worry about me being hard on myself, I'm way to self confident for my own good! lol
They look great Jay! I appreciate you showing the two methods using a knife and a hot wire foam cutter. The painting looks good but if you want it darker in the middle you could use a black grey mix and stipple or dry brush it onto the center of each part. Thanks for sharing this.

I've gone back a bit and stippled in some black with a hint of green, not quite the black stone I had in my head but I like it how it is I think. Thank you :)
Great necron terrain piece! Have the mdf version from ttcombat but have a stack of foam board around so will give this a go

Wow... I have heard u comment many a time about not wanting specialised tools and yr push saw was cheap so u thought that was ok. Then to my utter suprise you present yr hot wire unit. I nearly fell over. A specialised tool. Good on you. Cheerz Denise W.A

The stream was great. By the way why don't you do say a challenge video like making different terrain with one type of object like toilet paper role like the trash and terrain video you made but with one thing

Thanks. And it's an interesting question, I think it's because I don't want to make anything I don't think is worth making. So I will often combine cheap things but not sure I could make something nice with just 1 thing. But if I can think of something, I deffo will. Thank you :)

gues i have to look up 30mm.

Sorry I don't follow what you are saying? 30mm is just over an inch? You could if you can get it glue two pieces together and fill in the gaps with filler / spackle.
