If it's nasty and cold out, I do steaks in the oven in a cast iron skillet. Cooking on stovetop makes a mess with the splatter and broiling is no mess. The crust is really nice. Now i know how to prevent the curling! Thanks.
Excellent tips, going to try this tonight!
This is so easy! Thanks for showing us, Joey!

Looks easy and delicious. I hate preparing the grill so I will try this method. Thanks for the video.

Thx and hope it turns out great 🙌
Excellent
In the UK, we call that a grill. The grill is the upper elementa, the lower elements power the oven.
I will try your way this weekend ! Wish me luck ;)
Thank you 💕
Thank you for not trying to convince viewers that the steak is medium rare like other channels wound. Looks like a good method, need to give it a try 👍

Thank you, the steak turned out great!
You posted a method like this a few years ago, minus the cast iron and I used that during the winter to cook steaks and yeah, it worked like a charm.

Very nice! We live in Singapore and have a small microwave oven with "grill" broiler function. I use this same method to cook USDA and Australian steaks for my wife here. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do!

Appreciate the nice feedback 🤘
I might have to try it this way, does it leave a mess in the oven?
Pre heating the pan was a no bueno. I want the broiler to sear the steak not the pan to heat my meat.
Exactly the video I was looking for. I actually hate the crust on pan-fried steaks. I just broiled a chuck steak as a test and it was fantastic.

Thanks so much for taking the time to share your results with our audience, verrrrry much appreciated 🙌
I will try this today with bacon grease as the fat, and my pizza stone to lift it closer to the burner. Thanks!❤

Appreciate the video and tips, but I have a gas stove and my broiler is at the bottom of my stove. The fire is not concentrated in one spot either.
Thank you for this! 🙏👌👍🎉🎊💐
I have a question so my oven broiler heating source is not like that it's gas flame can I still use your technique? But my air fryer has that heating source, hopefully you understand my question: ) thank you
I like that crust! Need to sear on stove then finish in oven
Arwsome
I want to cook steaks but i dont like having to vent my house plus cleaning cast iron sucks.
I usually prefer medium rare, but medium like that is also good for some fattier cuts.
I put my steak about one inch away. BIG MISTAKE!!!!!!! FLARE UPS ARE NO JOKE!!!!!!! 😂

I would like to see it done without the Oil. I've been doing that with nonstick Pans lately. Less Mess, less Smoke, and it browns up the Steak nicely. At least without the Oil to begin and then lower it to the bottom Shelf w/basting maybe? Can't wait to try myself.

Great suggestion!
It's a smoke alarm. Not a fire alarm 😂
Actually cook my ribbon stakes on the grill I use actual charcoal, no propane at all.
How thick is your steak please .. thanks
The fat from the steak splatters, hits the broiler coils, and causes a fire. Been there, done that, so has the fire department
Fair warning, I accidentally touched the broiler while taking the steak out. The oven mitt immediately burnt through and I had a 3rd degree burn within a second
So grilled then 😂
hokay, so were learning how to overcook a steak. Ive shot a man for less
6 minutes in the making, 6 days in ventilating the house 😇 Steak looks perfect, BTW.
This is also a very effective way to test your smoke alarms.
All you put on that thing was some salt? You need to add some more seasoning to that thing.
My gas broiler will scorch that steak putting it that close.
Good tips but I think I’ll lower my steak as it’s not as thick as yours and I don’t want a fire … 🔥 I’m 70yrs old …& I’ll try with a cool pan not heated bcuz I know I’ll BURN it and then I’ll be upset.. I’d rather have my steak UNDER COOKED THAN OVER COOKED
Just here for the aprons/Snapchat filters
