How To Use:
1. Plug in to power on the left
2. Plug into iPhone on the right
3. Click "Power" and you should see about 4.1V and 0.00A. If you see any value for A (current), then you have a short somewhere on the board.
4. If you get 0.00A, then press & hold "Test" for about 3 seconds. You should see the A numbers starts going up.
If you have a screen connected, you should see the apple logo

The DT880 is great for quick testing for any tech. Of course, a DCPS is necessary as well for any board level tech.

It depends. some ICs can short. Some capacitors can short.

Great clear explanation Jesse! I have a rather more basic cable that can boot up an iPhone, but it always shuts down by itself after a minute or two. Can you please tell me how long this device can keep the phone powered up for, and if you can also run apps that increase the current draw while you do that?

Yes this also simulates battery data so it doesn't restart. Unfortunately, this product is no longer available and not being produced.

I use the Fluke 115 and it works great. You can set it to Diode Mode and it beeps when it gets a reading. Very helpful. Also works as continuity mode at the same time. Saves a lot of time. Worth every penny: amzn.to/2XV2Uv6
