you have to lower the voltage below about 5, then short the leads to adjust current

Higher amps is better. Voltage is pushed whereas amps is pulled by the device. Analogy : Our road distribution transformer is capable of providing say 1000 amps. You can connect any device like 5 watt lamp or 2000 watt heater. In both items the voltage pushed will be 240, but the amps pulled will be different as per the device design. So no harm in using higher rated amps. Only the voltage should match.

Is current control knob working, I can not adjust current.

+sankar hey Now i have been using the unit for long and regularly. Firstly the voltage it displays is not accurate all the times. Coming to the stability it is pretty stable, it fluctuates within +/- 0.2Volts at some times. Hope I answered your query.

+sankar Till now i have not tried to mod it as i have a self made psu for my primary work with low current output. As Baku's minimum current is 3.1Amp which is a bit high for the work i do right now. But theoretically if we see that if we use the 10 turn pot it can only increase the resolution and precision and not the stability. Great to know that you ordered one for yourself. I would recommend firstly when the PSU arrives is to open up the splitter box in the cable and solder all the joints properly or to use another cables as the quality of these cables provided is cheap.

+ketan Hey See you can not set the current to a particular value because you can only limit it. The minimum limit you can set is approximately 3.1Amp and not 0.6Amp as claimed by Baku. Although you can set the voltage at 2Volt. But it can do the work if there is overload protection in the circuit you power up.

This is a worth less power supply if you bue it for 1700 from ebay. It is avalable in local market for 900. Any way apart from that. on the very first day the filter capacitor got burned after 2 Hr of use. Worst experience....
