I'm currently making a granny square baby blanket for a friend due in February. This way of joining the squares is so easy, but cute. I used a different colour for joining the squares, the ridge adds a border to the squares. It's just amazing.

Thank you so much. This is the best joining tutorial I have seen. You answered many questions for me. I will be using your method. Most tutorials I watched previously did not explain how to attach the rows. Awesome tutorial 👌 Thank you 😊

I love this method, I use similar as I slip stitch instead of dc and this also leaves a ridge which I love so have it on the front side of my blanket. I did try using invisible stitch to join my squares but found that my blanket was quite heavy and as it grew it didnt feel secure. Thank you for your tutorials I love watching them. You have taught me so much x

😘😘😘 Thank You, Thank You, Thank You 'Blossom Crochet'!!!!! I have been looking for a simpler and easy method of joining all of my granny squares for eight months - refusing to move forward until I got it in my head, what to do!! And you nailed it!!! Your instructions and explanations were absolutely clear!!! I've noted that this video was September 2017 and it's now July 2022 - I do hope that you are well, and I'm soooo grateful for locating this tutorial! Now!!!! I can stop procrastinating 💋💞

Thank you for this. I have a granny square Afghan that my grandmother made years and years ago. I decided to remake it, so I can preserve hers, and wasn’t sure how to join the squares. This is a big help. I’m a knitter with a basic knowledge of crochet.

I panicked, I thought I saved your video after using it to join my first blanket, but I didn't, gah! Watched several others while I looked for this one, and they are fine, but not as well explained and shot to show what you need to see. I'm ready to join my 2nd blanket and needed a refresher....someday it will stick, maybe by blanket 6 haha! Thank you!

Thank you so very much for the video. You made it seem so easy to do. Thank you for clarifying that doubles in the UK are singles in the US & trebles are doubles. It can often get confusing, so it helped that you pointed it out. At this time, I just needed to know how to join the squares, so it helped that you showed the time, so I could jump to it. You are a great teacher. Thanks so much. :)

When joining would you still just double crochet into the space in between clusters of treble stitches if you were using a chain 1 in between the clusters or would you do a single crochet into the chain one stitch (into the V) instead?

Hi Blossom:) I am in the process of making a very dear friend of mine and possibly my future MIL?? 🤔 a beautiful GS Afghan. I let her pick the colors and she chose a lovely burgundy and a Smokey grey. I picked a pattern out of my own imagination (one of the things I love about working with GS’s:) and I consider myself a novice with crocheting as I’ve not been doing it for very long. So...I’m just about done making my GS’s for the Afghan and I realized I needed a refresher course on how to join them. That how I found you and your VERY helpful video. I know others on here have felt it necessary to complain about all of the “fluff” on this video..but I wanted you to know that I gleaned quite a bit of knowledge from your “fluff and extra stuff” lol!! And I wanted to write and let you know how much I truly appreciate the time and effort you went to in making this video. Very Helpful!! 👍🏻 and I also wanted you to know how much I have enjoyed learning from you. You have such a calm and matter of fact way of teaching and your instructions are very clear and concise. I also have enjoyed listening to your very warm and kind voice. You have a new subscriber and I’m already looking forward to watching your other videos. A warm Hello:) to you from, currently, rainy California in the US. 🌷

I love watching these crochet tutorials! However, I have a question. In many of the tutorials I've watched (mostly those from the UK, but some from the US too), the yarn over is done from the front of the hook to the back. I always do my yarn over from the back to the front of the hook. Does it make a difference which way the yarn is brought over the hook?

I've been knitting and crocheting for many years. When knitting, yarn over from the top. When crocheting, do the opposite and yarn over from the bottom. Sometimes instructions will say the opposite when creating a special stitch.

I made 2 large granny squares to cover pillow inserts (12"x12", 14"x14" & 16"x16") and would like to join the 2 squares together on 3 sides first then on the last side after inserting the pillow. Any suggestions on what would be the best way to join?
