Crochet: Solid Circle Granny Square

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

How amazing are these squares? They're so simple but look fantastic when all stitched together to make larger projects. They will make wonderful blankets and afghans but also individually make great coasters!
I used Chunky Yarn in both of my squares, the first with Cream Paintbox Chunky and the centre circle was Stylecraft Carnival Chunky.

Thank you so much for this! I've been trying to learn this type of square from a written pattern and was really frustrated by the gaps and counts being unclear. You clearly explained and showed the stitches and I created my first seamless circle granny square!

Fabulous, one of the things I love about crochet is how you can transform your projects by using different colours. The blue/green centre looks fabulous. ⭐️

Lovely square! Really good point about switching hooks. I used to only use inline hooks. Then some 6 years back I bought some tapered hooks because that’s all that the store carried. What a blessing that was. I’d be working with a yarn that was giving me trouble so I tried the other style hook. What a huge difference! A couple of weeks ago I was working on a hat and the yarn was splitting on me a lot. I had been using a tapered hook. So I switched to an inline hook and problem solved! I wish I had done that years ago. One style hook definitely works better with a particular yarn than the other. At least for me. Thanks for sharing!

Love this pattern! I love how you explain everything! Such a pretty and soothing voice/accent! I could listen to you for hours! Lol (bc that's not creepy... Lol) any how... I really liked how you shown a stitch with another hook! Thank you! Do you know how to do a graphgan? Like how to make/read one? And then how to execute with crocheting. If you do can you please do a tutorial? I would really really appreciate it!!! 💖💖💖💙 oh and maybe a video on a graphgan with corner to corner (c2c) stitch! Please and thank you!!!

That is most helpful the was you did the increases. I'm ashamed to say even after many years of crocheting I still get confused and gain or lose stitches on the slip stitch. Please could you tell me the name of the yarn you used for the circle? While everyone was paying attention to the tutorial, I was busy admiring the yarn.😂😂😂. Sorry. Stella

Can I ask a question? Why do you go into the NEXT stitch for the circle part, but then you go into the SAME stitch when you start your double treble? What is the reasoning? How do you know you need to do that? Thanks!

Hi there! I have a problem, maybe you can help? I have a large circle (64 stitches) and I want to put it into a square, but I just don't know how to do it. I have changed the types and number of stitches several times, but the corners are never high enough to offset the sides. Do you know of a pattern that I could try for this......thanks in advance. Hope you can help.

This is a great video and I also found one from The Crochet Crowd that will answer your question. He does an example of a 64 count stitches. Combine the info from both and happy crocheting.
