I'm a Frenchman and I was in Dublin in 2016 to celebrate the centenary of the 1916 Easter rising with my Irish friends ; a great parade, a beautiful army ; I love that country so much and I'm so proud to have attended this anniversary ; during these days in Dublin, my heart was Irish !!!

The big difference between the Irish military and the American, English and Canadian military's is how the Irish soldiers move in unison, they move like a caterpillar, not one soldier is out of step.That is discipline people. Soldiers that have that discipline in marching ,also have it in battle.They become one and know what the soldier in front is doing..Hello to all my old friends from D Coy Carlow.

Wish up nobody but nobody does drill like the Brits. Watch the Irish arms all raised to different levels, that is bad. British arms are swung shoulder high. Before you ask, yes I was a member of a professional continuity drill display team!

@@arthurmiskelly857 these soldiers are pretty smart, but yes the Brits are in a class of their own. I think the best I ever saw was the Rock apes Queen's colour squadron. Perfection. Then the guards of course. I was a gunner and we had gun drill, which I must admit was pretty slick (and frankly tiresome).

Irish army very professional great stuff.

Great parade. Watched it from St Stephens Green. Cracking piss-up afterwards too!
