    As Don said 👍 +Don I don't know how I missed your original comment. There were a couple of reasons I was wobbly on the day, 1 I was finding it hard to transition from driving cars for many years, so it took a bit more concentration to get the controls right, I was so used to coming straight off the clutch rather than ride it out, even though I knew what I should do I was still using it like I would in a car, hard to retrain the brain lol. 2 was simply because I was nervous and for parts I was as stiff as a board, everytime I noticed and relaxed a bit, it was much better. Starting lessons on a big bike next month look out for that, it's gonna be fun 😅👌

    I’ve attempted my C.B.T twice now. And on both occasions didn’t get passed the off road training. I was told by my instructor that I would need to invest a lot of time and money into training in order to get on the road. This was on a scooter as well. I was simply too tense and nervous and could not relax and enjoy it. What made it worse was that on both occasions I was in a group of 4 people, who simply jumped on it was natural to them. It’s not a nice experience when you feel you are being watched and holding everyone up. So I’ve decided it’s not for me. Perhaps it’s my age, I am 51. But I’m glad I tried. But it’s all over for sure for me.

    Mate, that's so sad to hear, you need to find a way to practice by yourself or with a friend or at least just one instructor and nobody else. I understand if you want to just put it past you, but I would go/ring them and other companies and tell them your experience and how you feel, they hopefully would sympathise and work something out. Once you get yourself to relax, you would love it on two wheels, deep breaths and positive thinking can push those nerves away enough to get through the CBT. If you done nothing seriously wrong, I would definitely recommend going to a different training company and see how it goes. Good luck with whatever you choose Kevin.

    Kevin Welland some people do take longer to complete a CBT, it is a misconception that it takes a day. However, your training school should have taken your lack of experience into account and should not have put you in a group who had experience of some sort or even in any group for that matter. It is a poor reflection on the school and if it was the one shown here it is no surprise. If you really want to do it then find a better school, don’t give up, it sounds like you were put under pressure to keep up with the others when you shouldn’t be.

We did a little on the road, around the area where traffic was pretty much non existent, then returned back to split into groups for a longer ride out as the 2 other people who were there on the same day had experience, and I didn't. MoistGoat There are strict rules for the conducting of CBTs (l should know!) and I would advise you to look at the DVSA’s website and if, as l suspect, your CBT was just a ‘get you through the door and money in the bank’ exercise you can report the establishment responsible. It’s not just for your own sake.

    I'm guessing you are not from the UK? Here you have to do your CBT on a geared bike to ride a geared bike. If you've already done it on a non geared bike you need to do it again on a geared bike to ride one. If you've done it on a geared bike you can ride anything as long as it's at or below 125cc.

    George is there anything saying you can? Andy Just because you do it dose not necessarily mean you can or should :) Sorry if I am wrong about that though, I've never checked the dvla/government rules on that. I just assumed it was the same as it is for the full bike license and car license, with those you can ride anything of course if you do it with gears. If you do your car license or full bike license in/on an auto you can only drive/ride an auto.

    You'll be fine, it's much easier than it seems, they ease you into it nice and slowly too. Try not to be to nervous on the day, deep breath to help you relax. Something they may not tell you (did not tell me) is that you need a light grip on the grips and relax your arms, grip the tank with your legs. Keep taking deep breath if the nerves don't go, being relaxed makes it much easier to control the bike, always look to where you want to go. Good luck with it, you'll have a fun day.

    Study the highway code, no theory test is needed for the CBT but you need to know the rules of the road, they will go over it a bit with you on the day. It will help prepare you for the future when you get your full license or your car license or both. Otherwise all you need to do is book your CBT, they usually have some gear to lend you (just ask when you call or go in), but get some if you can so you've got it when you get your bike. You'll enjoy it, but please be careful once you get out on the streets on your own, thanks for watching and for your comment 👍😀

    The only thing that makes it a little tough at times is nerves. You tense up and that is not good for smooth control. Also I think if you've been driving for many years as I had, it is a bit awkward getting out of 'car' mode, that is how I found it. After a while out on the bike though it becomes really easy.

  • @HalfdeadRider

    @HalfdeadRider

    3 жыл бұрын

    Just book your CBT mate, you don't need the theory or a provisional licence. That then lasts two years, and you can then either redo that after two years, or anytime before, do your theory and get the A1, A2 or A licence done depending on your age and plans.

  • @HalfdeadRider

    @HalfdeadRider

    3 жыл бұрын

    Well at your age you can go do your A2 and get a bigger bike when ready, but it will be restricted if it's higher than 47 bhp and derestricted when you pass your A licence. Or you can do your CBT one more time in two years and when you pass 24 you can then get your full A licence and ride anything unrestricted. If you do your DAS it is usually done over three days, I done mine more like car lessons as funds were low at the time. The actual Mos 1 does not take long at all, I have a video explaining the exercises in order (here kzread.info/dash/bejne/ea551cmom9XUYaw.html ). Mod 2 takes around 30-45 minutes if I remember right. You'll enjoy the process, the CBT is a fun day out, good luck with your future as a fellow biker, you won't regret it.

    It's more to do with moving slowly, bikes are more steady as you pick up speed, also a bit of nerves mixed in too I think. I was looking up most of the time, might be the camera angle that made you think I was not.

    Lol Chris is right, the reason you're wobbling so much is because you're not looking where you are going, regardless of the speed it is 100% possible to keep the handlebars steady, just a bit harder at lower speeds. In my country, you would fail the test :) Anyway im not critzising, just stating some facts, glad you passed :)

  • @HalfdeadRider

    @HalfdeadRider

    7 жыл бұрын

    ohAproxy it's not a test as such, very hard to 'fail'. I was looking, it's the angle of the camera. It was a mix of nerves and very low speed and not riding the clutch well, was a little tough going from 20+ years of driving to get used to bike controls too in those conditions. 125's are well known to be hard to keep steady at low speed too. Even now after seven months of riding, it can be a little wobbly at low speeds.

Try and remember to be as relaxed on the bike as possible, stiff arms makes it harder to control, have fun.

    No mate, no failure, I was wobbly due to a mix of low speed and the nerves of a test situation. Take deep breaths and try and keep relaxed (something they should talk about, but did not) as being tense on a motorbike makes it tougher to manoeuvre (and keep steady at low speeds). It's not a test as such, as the name suggests it's just basic training, the only reason they will ask you to do another session is usually if you do something drastically wrong, pretty rare. I would say good luck but you won't need it, you'll have a fun day.

    @@HalfdeadRider Hi there 🖐 I've got mine tomorrow at 8:30 am and I've never ridden motorbike in my life, in fact I don't even know how to start the engine. But I've got cycling experience good level. What do you think and did you know how to start the engine before you've done your cbt training??? Help me out mate. Thanks!!!!

    Not a problem mate :) I done my Mod 1+2 last year mate, Mod 2 is just riding around in front of the instructor so I did not do a video of that, I probably spoke about it in a video around that time though. I've now been riding an '08 Kawasaki ER6f for the past six months, it took a while to save for the bike, it's great fun. After a few hours or so on a bike you start to feel much more confident as it's not as tough as it seems, you'll soon be riding around wondering what you were worried about.

    this looks piss fucking easy, I'm sorry but it really does. please enlighten me if I am wrong but compared to a driving test and or a1 test, I could pass it on a bicycle.

  • @HalfdeadRider

    Yep you can pass it on a bicycle lol and yep it is piss easy, not many people fail the CBT. You will only fail if something you do on the road section puts you in danger or could possibly put you in danger, it usually has to be quite drastic, although they can tell you to come back and do it again if they feel you need more practice before going alone. The main trick is relax as much as possible and enjoy it.

    +Craziestbanana Yea it is, the only thing is getting used to the bike itself and that is not too hard either, it's rare that people "fail" it's not a test. Also you can do it on a bicycle, at least I remember other kids doing it when I was at school. The driving test is also easy if you have enough lessons and do it when ready, I've passed that and an extended test a long time ago lol Doing A licence this year 👍

    Not a lot I can tell you other than put out as much content at as high quality as possible and keep going. It takes literally years to build a successful channel and gaming is one of the toughest to get noticed in. Do it as a hobby in spare time and if it works out one day it's a bonus, good luck with it.

    @@HalfdeadRider Hey! Unfortunately, I was being sarcastic. I didn't mean to be horrible though. The video was great, but I had to skip past the intro because it was too long. @@bradleyharrisYT No mate, not a problem, some find a few second long lol. I've said before sometime in the passed 3.5 years that in hindsight I would have left it out of these videos, I don't think it mattered so much in standard motovlogs. Now taking it out, I would have a while back if I knew then you could edit old vids while still on here, thanks for watching and commenting.
