Also in Italy, being "compagni" goes beyond the negative connotation that was attached by English cultures and politics to the term. At school you call your mates "compagni", which is way more human and collectivizing than "colleagues". Then maybe, the communist era spread this connotation. @@scarba At the best mixed feelings. He does have a good grasp of economics, and some of his propositions could lead somewhere. He is absolutely right about the true nature of EU right now. BUT the man is so full of himself and every opportunity for public speech is basically a stage for his huge Ego. A good parallel (without any political relation) about Yanis' actual influence in Greece would be Alexi Navalny. Everybody outside Russia thought that he was the main antagonist of Putin having huge political influence. The reality is that the guy was like 2% at his best and people didnt really bother with him. Yanis unlike other Greek politicians maintains an online presence and tries with this platform to have a ''pan European'' presence that amplifies his image. In Greece his actual influence is actually very very small.

But he also had a long career as a university professor of economics. He can be annoying but that doesn’t mean that he is always wrong. I would say that he is often more right than wrong. I want to be fair with the guy even if his personality annoys me. Being a minister for a small period, I can assure you that didn’t made him any money especially in the post he was. Traditionally the communists in the UK were poor working class trade unionists and not the rich or middle class speaking on their behalf. We must assure that the nouns and predicates regain their real meanings. Right now demanding that the state of Israel stops killing civilians and destroying the space of life of the Palestinians equals antisemitism. You need to challenge the Government in German court for this unconstitutional behaviour towards yourself and Prof Abu Sitta. Does anybody do this? Am pretty certain the judiciary will not look at this official behaviour kindly. It is called Verfassungsbeschwerde. I think it needs to be raised by a German citizen.
