Dynacorn seat pans welded in and more details on the Mach 1 Cobra Jet. Slither part 33.

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Hey Gang, I'm making more progress on the Mach 1 Cobra Jet. I decided to weld in the Dynacorn seat risers and finish the bracket for the trunk latch. Good things are coming.

Had a good laugh at your very imaginative opening. For a few seconds I thought I may have pulled a Rip Van Winkel and missed several weeks of videos. You are producing some very useful information on not only how to make professional repairs but also what to be on the alert for involving the quality of many aftermarket parts. Great job!

Gots to get me one of those hole punchers.....I cannot imagine doing that again with a drill bit... As always great job explaining and showing the detail involved with the proper placement of the seat riser

Great work as usual. When I welded in the cougar seat platforms to my 65 floor I used 4 long bolts with big washers thru the seat track holes to try and help clamp it down tighter. They also did not just drop in and fit as well as I would have liked!

That "secondary" piece under the seat pan you mentioned in the beginning, that was a brace for the pan. Replace the pans on my 66 and the repop had them.

That is the center brace of the seat pan that ties into to floor support. Same ones Betsy has now. Oh never mind, you’ve got it figured. Betsy’s driver seat pan went in like your original 69. Basically, feet moved away from the tunnel.

It is all looking great. I wanted to touch on the subject of the spot welder. I have a 220 volt unit that looks like the one you have. I got mine from Harbor Freight. the work good and there are a lot of places you can use it.they work great for pinch welds. I used mine on the cowl edges and anywhere I could use it. It doesn't got through weld through primer to good. Bare metal worked best for me, so I would have to clean and mark where I needed to weld. It does save time, and makessome think look more original. It's a heavey unit after a while, but I feel it works well. Good luck with it.

I had to chuckle when you mentioned the Cougar seat panels was lower for comfort reasons. The Cougar owners probably were a little older, had a tad bit more money, and more belly, so the Cougar was a natural fit. :) I do think my 1968 Cougar XR7 has a better looking interior and exterior than a 1968 Mustang GT. Thanks for another informative video.
