Fun to watch. A lot more complicated than Mopar brakes back then. You got love ordering new parts from 1 place only to find they don’t match 🤷‍♂️

Red is critical fasteners that need torqued . You will find the on steering, seat belts, leaf spring u-bolts etc. steering box & idler arm washers are cut to clear the fuel line on drivers side. Since the complete steering was installed as an assembly at one station on the assembly line, the same nuts, washers and bolts were used both sides of the chassis to avoid a mix up.

Red dyed bolts are to be hand torqued to specs by assembly line worker

Years ago I took my car to Munroe for some front brakes, and the "mechanic" over-tightened the front bearings, and it ended up smoking my spindles. He must have figured if tight is good, tighter is even better. 🙃

Dealing with the loss of a loved one is horrible. So much to do. Charles had his ideas for what he wanted. It is so sad he isn't here to see his dream come true. It is amazing what you are doing for Tammy. Not many folks would do what you are doing. Even though we know you don't like to paint, you are going to paint the car so she doesn't get screwed. I've always wondered though, since you hate to paint, why did you build a paint booth? Have you lost your desire to paint since building the garage? I realize people do hange over years.

I didn’t intentionally build a paint booth. It was meant to be just another work bay. It evolved into a paint booth as I did plan to paint my own cars. I couldn’t see myself paying someone else to paint them.

I wonder if the difference in the color for the caliper/brake hose is because the on the assembly line the color told the workers which side they were for? Just a thought. Keep the videos coming. As I was watching you put the caliper on it reminded me of the 69 Cougar that I redid about 8 years ago. Andy

I didn't hear the click when tightening down the bolts on the stearing box? Isn't it supposed to click, or beep if using one of those fancy wrenches? If not, how do you know, it won't fall off? It may require 92.873lbs of torque to be considered properly installed and if it's 93lbs, the chinese bolt may break. :) Did thisjob with nos stuff on my 65 25 years ago with a friend a lot smarter then me. I didn't have these helpful videos bak then. After this, I'll watch Patreon to see what spiffy information is available there. The Patreon videos are always worth it.

I did not torque the steering box bolts yet.

21:04 21:26 H ow are you going to road test after install after the instructions say? You could install the rear, a steering wheel and brake lines, have roger tow you with a chain while driving sitting on a bucket and see how it handles.:)
