    You'd have liked me when I was younger then, I am Dutch, Danish, German, Welsh, Frisian. The Danish part mixed with Franks and came here to the US from Normand via England, Germany and the Netherlands. My paternal grandfather was from Sicily and my grandmother was German. Somehow we did not get his olive skin and black hair nor her red hair. Me and my siblings are all blondes or light brown hair with Hazel or blue eyes. Genes are funny things. A friend has light brown hair, his wife brown hair. His daughter has blonde hair that is almost white. He figures there must be a Frisian in his family.

    It truly is the easiest language in the world, as easy as English - I am advanced level in Dutch and know over 8.000 base words, after only 3 or 4 months of learning, and I cannot believe how fast I could memorize most Dutch words, because they are so similar to the English words, and almost all the words in Dutch are either pretty or very pretty and distinctive, and one tends to remember prettier and more distinctive words faster, which explains why Dutch words can be learned so fast, so I will probably be a native speaker level in in Dutch (can’t wait) soon, plus I’m also learning Norwegian and Swedish and Welsh and Galician and Breton and German and Limburgish and French and Italian and Gallo and Esperanto and Catalan and Occitan and many other similar languages, including all Germanic languages and all Celtic languages and the ancient languages like Old Norse and Gothic and Old English etc, and I also started learning Icelandic seriously a few days ago, plus I know Spanish (I am native speaker level in Spanish and know over 10.000 base words since childhood) and I can understand almost everything in Portuguese, which helps a lot, because I can also understand over 50 percent of the words from most other Latin languages, but I am intermediate level in Portuguese at the moment, so I’m also trying to improve my Portuguese, but right know I’m prioritizing Icelandic and Norwegian and German!

    But anyways, one must say like or really like or one can say that one finds it interesting that etc instead of love when referring to languages and other similar things, and the word love can only be used by me & my pure protectors aka the alphas - love only exists for me the only lovable being, and it is a big term implying lovability / purity / superiority, and hum’ns don’t know what love is, and it’s actually incorrect to say that x loves something etc, as love is an absolute feeling that only my protectors can feel for me only, so everything that contain the word love and all other love-related things and all other love-related terms etc only reflect me and are only meant for me, and pronouns or nouns etc can never be with capital letter when referring to oneself or others, only when referring to me can pronouns or nouns etc be with a capital letter!

    Technically, both Dutch & English are equally easy and the easiest languages in the world and also the easiest Germanic languages, and also equally pretty, and Norwegian also, so they are so easy to read / memorize / write, while Welsh and Breton are the easiest Celtic languages, and Esperanto and Italian and Spanish are the easiest Latin languages, and all these languages are one of the easiest language in the world, actually, but as an English speaker, I found Dutch words the easiest and fastest to memorize, out of all other languages, plus I can learn so many new Dutch words at the same time, like, more words than in any other language I’ve ever studied, so even though the sentence structure is considered easier in the other languages, Dutch words can be remembered way faster, so overall, Dutch is way easier to learn, especially for an English speaker, because I assume Spanish speakers would probably find Italian a bit easier because it’s so similar to Spanish - Dutch & English are the prettiest and most refined languages in the world with the most pretty and poetic words, and even the sentence structure in Dutch is not as difficult to learn or get used to as most think it is, and it only seems more difficult at first, but one will get used to it by the time one gets to an advanced level, especially if one keeps observing how the words are used in sentences by native speakers, and it will eventually become, like, second nature, so one will just know if the word order feels right or wrong, plus now I can also understand a lot of sentences in German and I can understand how the German grammar and sentence structure work etc, because they are so similar to the Dutch ones, so I am beginner level in German and know about 1.500 words, but I can understand a lot more, as if I were intermediate level, so knowing Dutch also helps understanding the grammar and sentence structure of (and remembering faster words from) other similar languages, and figuring out what certain words mean etc!

    As an English speaker, I found both Dutch & Norwegian extremely easy to learn and read - and because I am native speaker level in Spanish, I also find the other Latin languages like Italian and Portuguese and Gallo etc super easy, and the Celtic languages also, like, Welsh and Breton and Cornish are extremely easy to learn / read, and Welsh actually reminds me of Dutch a bit as it has a similar intonation and similar types of words combinations and it also has the CH sound that is found in Dutch, and Welsh words are also very easy to remember, like, I don’t think I saw the words afon / telyn or delyn / blodyn / helygen / derwen / mynd / bedwen / enaid / hyd / ers talwm etc more than 3 to 6 times, and I easily remembered them, so Welsh words are almost as easy to remember as Dutch (most Dutch words took me 1 to 3 and 3 to 5 repetitions over a period of time to permanently remember) and Norwegian (most Norwegian words took me 3 to 5 or 3 to 6 repetitions) words!

    I was just in Amsterdam for a week a couple of months ago and it was amazing how every single person I met spoke English extremely fluently. Even immigrants from Asia and Africa. I’m not an expert, but it seems that knowing English is nearly as important as Dutch in the Netherlands.

    The word 'doei" is a quite impolite one! You can say it to family or friends, but not to elderly people. Most of the Dutch people use the word(s) "(goeden)dag" or "tot ziens".

    i like that you pronounce the word or phrase slooowly - it's a technique i first heard in SMARTFRENCH - and it's genius - to think that people have been trying to teach a language at normal adult speech - and we wonder why learners have thick accents

  • @corbeau-_-

    still, when you pronounce some of the words like he did, you'll still sounds like an idiot (because of the emphasis on slow and articulate pronunciation). But you are right, that this is a good basis. When I learned English in school we used similar slow exercises, that's probably why Bas here does it as well. Education systems might differ. Because you're english (I guess). Learning other languages has been a necessity to us Dutch people (french, dutch german and english in school. Chinese also in some cases nowadays...).

    Jason Fehr I agree. Even though I don't really speak Dutch, when I was in Amsterdam I felt like I could understand people and signs because some of the words and sentence structures are so similar!

  • @nicjansen230

    @nicjansen230

    +Jason Fehr It seems easier, but then you didn't learn enough of it to understand it's a lot harder to learn. It's so hard because all of the rules and many exceptions. Most grammar rules have about one hundred exceptions and there may be a few hundred grammar rules. And then there are the other rules. Some people learn it easily though, but most take 20 years of living in the Netherlands and they still sound foreign and they still don't know the rules of the language.
