Dune Paul Atreides Tribute Video Edit 4K
A video montage of the best bits of Denis Villenueve's Dune-duology, structured in a similar three-act structure as its source material-the book 'Dune' by Frank Herbert. The first part follows the Atreides' trials on Arrakis, the second shows Paul's integration into Fremen society, and the third his transformation into the mythical Kwisatz Haderach.

It may sound crazy, but somehow it changed me. I’ve never heard of the books and part One made me very curious. Then I read Dune and Messiah in 3 Days and rewatched the movies …Part Two two times in Cinema and hell… what is going on. I feel like a child, who has seen colours for the first time and now it’s part of my life. Last time this happened was LotR. Sometimes things do this to you. Sometimes it’s a book, a song, here it is DV and you simply feel his love for this project. Hope Timothee gets an Oscar for this role, he is breathtaking.

I love how you contrasted the arrival of Atreides on Arrakis with Paul putting his hand in the box. The box is a metaphor for Arrakis and there was only pain in it for the Atreides. The Reverend Mother said that an animal caught in a trap will gnaw off its own leg to escape. Paul Atreides was the animal caught in a trap and he gnawed off his own leg (lost his soul to a terrible purpose) to escape that trap.
@kartikeyatomar9847

But didn't Paul resist and pass the test ? He didn't remove his hand and proved he was more . He also chose Mua'dib , the desert mouse name to prove his worth
@nelsondnazariotorres8732

Him passing the test is more about how he exceeds the bene gesserits expectations. He is still very much in a painful trap which he cannot escape and in order to regain some control he actually does fall into the only way out he can manage (which is to cut off his “arm”) and lose himself to the power around him.

The scene I can't stop thinking about is the one where he gives out that damn speech in the ring. He delivers it so smoothly, and the writing is SO GOOD!!! Stilgar: "You need to kill me, it is the only way" Paul: "I point the way!" Oh. My. Messiah.

Overall, I think these movies were pretty faithful to the source material. Although the one thing that is missing a lot is Paul and Chani's relationship. I understand that they have to cut stuff out and change things from time to time, but I almost feel like they changed too much with Chani as a character. _MID-ISH SPOILERS FOR DUNE PART 2 AHEAD_ In the book, she is Chani Kynes, daughter of Liet Kynes. She and Paul initially bond over the fact that the Emperor and House Harkonnen are responsible for the deaths of their fathers. Chani is Paul's biggest supporter, his confidant, and so much more. He might marry Princess Irulan to maintain control of the empire, but his heart always has been and always will be Chani's. His marriage to Irulan is a purely political thing. It's Chani that Paul has children with. It's their children that are his heirs. Chani is to Paul what Jessica was to Leto: pretty much his wife in all but name. The movie made it feel like Chani was on the outside looking in. Like him marrying Irulan was some sort of personal betrayal when it was anything but that. Paul doesn't love Irulan. He never has, he never will. Chani is still his partner, his confidant, and the love of his life.

The change between book and movie is kind of jarring but exists to give the audience a view that helps them to see the horror in what is otherwise a really exciting revolution. Easy to get swept up in political/religious/ideological fervor and not realize how terrible the consequences could be until it’s too late. Chani helps to serve the same purpose as Paul’s visions: a grim reminder that revolutionary wars are still wars.
