So a lot of bartending supply sites sell dry ice sticks which are this metal straw shaped doodads that you fill with crushed dry ice and place directly into the drink. Makes the cool smoke effect and keeps the ice from actually touching the drinker. Side note: I really wish barri would make an Android version of his app 😣
In the next episode, Spike tries his hand at making dry ice bombs haha 😂🤙🏼
Found your channel today, only a few hours ago. While I have a digital copy of Smuggler's Cove on my Kindle (started reading it while in Jamaica in 2021), your vids inspired me to buy a hard copy a couple hours ago. I made my first zombie about 30 minutes ago. Though I'm still sitting upright and capable of basic functions, I'm wanting a second and yet questioning my judgement at the same time. One thing not to be questioned: you have an awesome channel here, and I'm thankful for it.
Just discovering the channel. Great stuff. What would probably be great, for the patrons' fingers, would be to have the lower half of the vase wrapped in rattan, sisal, or something ropey that add to the presentation, but kept the fingers off the glass. I would imagine it is hard not to just grab the vase as you go for the drink. If the bottom of the vase is dark or smoked, you might even put a layer of rubber beneath the sisal to add to the protection.
You don’t need that much dry ice for the smog effect. Use it like regular ice. Fill the vase about 1/4 way up and add few ice cube sized chunks in it. It will sound like it’s boiling and produce a lot of “smoke”. I hope you got the glass out without damaging it. Great show btw!
Ive heard that Elvis very rarely drank alcohol. He was supposedly a soda fanatic. Another awesome video, Spike! Looking forward to each Friday night. Great work!
So if you touch a screwdriver or something metal to dry ice it screams. Try it!
Awesome stuff Spike! Try adding warm/hot water to the ice for crazy fog effect and maybe a smaller vase or scorpion bowl. Love the videos!
😂😂😂 this episode cracked me up
Spike, really fun to see an older video after starting out watching your newer videos with guests. I can see how your vertical shake changed to horizontal and the planned use of sonic ice. One thing I thought you might break out for crushing the dried ice is a Lewis bag and mallet. Great videos and I am jealous of your tiki bar which looks fantastic.
I know this one is a year old but I'm catching up. Loved this and going to give it a go for sure. With some caution!
These are so fun! Thanks Spike.
I do dry ice experiments with my 9-year-old son. That sound from the dry ice is essentially the solid CO2 boiling off, going directly from solid to its gaseous state.
Awesome drink they to make the tiki app for android
Love these videos
Awesome as always, spike. Made me want to make a Bali Bali!!
You can get dry ice in pellet form, they look like large grains of rice. I would bet that's what they used! Praxair or a some gas supply house can order it for you.
I enjoyed this very much.
Hey Spike,
Go to sonic, or get a Lewis bag and a wooden mallet. Works great.
