DRUNK ELEPHANT 🆕🐘🐘 Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser Review

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Drunk Elephant came out with it's latest product, Slaai, a makeup removing balm. This is meant to be applied with dry hands to a dry face, and rinse with warm water after massaging the balm to oil cleanser over your skin. The Drunk Elephant Slaai Makeup Melting Butter Cleanser also comes with a small vial of Bamboo Booster exfoliating powder. The Bamboo Booster is meant to be added to the Slaai Balm once or twice a week to exfoliate and remove dead skin cells that sit at the surface of skin.
Slaai is well designed. It comes with a magnetic little spoon, which magnets to the lid of the balm. Very nice, won't be losing this scooper. The balm melts nicely over skin and rinses off very clean. Immediately after rinsing the balm off my face felt clean and soft. I used Slaai to remove a lot of makeup, foundation, sunscreen, face powder, bronzer, blush, eyeshadow, mascara, and lip gloss. I found that Slaai did a great job removing almost everything. My cotton pad (soaked with toner) only showed a very small amount of leftover residue.
I love that the formula doesn't have any fragrance or scent. This makes it an ideal makeup removing balm for sensitive skin. The formula also boasts several beneficial ingredients and oils. Safflower seed oil, sunflower seed wax, olive fruit, kiwi fruit, and much more.
My only slight disappointment is that after using the Slaai Makeup Melting Butter Cleanser was that my skin did feel dry after using it. My skin is typically very dry, however, most of the time I use balm to oil cleansers, such as this one, my skin typically feels soft and hydrated. Although this could be due to a little burn I gave myself two days ago. I'll certainly keep using it and see.
Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser Full Ingredients List:

Tip I recently learned to help with the water mess when washing the face is wrist bands. You know the sweat-absorbing fluffy ones. I bought a dozen cheap ones, they work great😀

HA! I was going to say the same thing! I got some double thick ones from Amazon for just a few dollars per set and they work beautifully! They're soaked by the time I'm done, and saves me from having to change my top. 😁

I bought this a few days ago and I’m loving it. It leaves my skin so soft and clean, and although I still double cleanse just to be safe, this is the first balm cleanser that made me feel like I didn’t need to because it was so effective.

I just purchaed the slaai DE cleanser at the Sephora sale and absolutely love this product! It removed all my stuborn makeup and left my skin feeling super clean, soft and healthy lookimg. This has replaced my previous cleansers by farmacy and clinique. I will definetely be repurchasing. Thanks for the review, great video!

Ohhh, I'm excited about this! Their jelly cleanser is one of my faves, but I like to remove makeup with an oil balm first. I've been using the Farmacy Green Clean and love it, but this one is even less $, so I'll definitely give it a try. Thanks so much for the demo!

I think you'll like this one, I didn't realize it was cheaper than the Farmacy, kind of shocked! Slaai also does a nice job removing makeup and rinses off without a residue feeling leftover.

I did like the Farmacy balm but also wasn't excited about the scent of it. I am loving the Drunk Elephant Balm much more, and I think it didn't leave my skin feeling as dry as the Farmacy balm.

Just mascara I'm wondering about & rubbing my eyes tearing my eye lashes out as that usually happens using a balm cleanser.. But we'll see how it does now!! 💚🐘💚

It did a pretty good job with my mascara, probably does depend on if it's waterproof mascara or not. I didn't have to scrub too much to remove mine. Lately I've been applying Jamaican Castor Oil to my lashes at night time and I think it's helped them grow longer and stronger.

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who had eyelash issues with cleansing balms! I use Latisse and had been using R and F Lash Boost, and my lashes looked amazing. I started using Heimish and Banilla Co cleansing balms back in August. My skin felt fantastic, but it trashed my lashes 😭 I’m very interested in the DE cleansing balm, I just don’t want to lose all my lashes again. I’ve actually started using the DE Marula oil on my lashes (after my Latisse has dried for a while) and it’s really helped them grow and not break. Is there any secret to using cleansing balm and avoiding loosing lashes?

Every time I think I've found that one balm that'll forever be 'the one' for my first cleanse, I get close to finishing it, and.. do love tryin' a new one! The 'ELF' gel melt cleanser WAS that one for me up until they discontinued it and think I was so disappointed that I simply decided I'd continually rotate products out for that initial cleanse to save myself the trauma, hahha, probably went through two dozen of the 'ELF' one so I did enjoy that little tub of goodness. This DE one's been on my radar for ages, there's just so many out there for so much less. 🙄🤔 I will say, the one I'm currently workin' through is the Palmer's coconut one and it takes way more than it should. It's just way too emollient, while still havin' this grit to it for exfoliation I guess, that I've had to add a bit of shea butter to it and remix it a few times now to kinda make it work which is makin' it last forever, but, yeah, really lookin' forward to finishing it up once and for all. The oat balm from the 'Inkey List' really does look like that perfect texture of thick enough to hold it's shape and still bein' slightly flexible and that, to me, tends to be the best ones for the job.

Hi there. Question: what do you think about abolene for taking off mascara? here is why i ask. I have been using it since i was in high school and i am 64 now. I love all the new balm makeup removers for foundation etc, but i think if you rub your mascara off with them, then continue rubbing your face, that all the black mascara will get pushed into your pores. I always take my mascara off first with the abolene.. but just wanted to know your expert opinion.. thanks miss S. ...xxoo

  • @NOBSBeauty

    @NOBSBeauty

    5 жыл бұрын

If you find that Abolene works well for your mascara removal there is nothing wrong with that. I kind of agree with you. I really haven't found many cleansing balms that don't require a lot of rubbing, which isn't great for the skin around the eyes, and is also not good for your lashes, either. As long as you feel like your skin handles the Abolene well and it rinses off clean go for it!

I'll have to do a versus video soon. Personally I liked it better than the TOTD Balm. What I liked more with the Drunk Elephant is that it didn't seem to get into my eyes as much as the Clinique balm does. I also think the Drunk Elephant leaves my skin feeling less dry than Clinique does. Although I think that Clinique does a better job removing mascara.

This has a pretty mild ingredient list, but I wonder if it is the ethylhexyl palmitate? It typically isn't irritating, but some people do have sensitivities to it. Not sure if that's the reason, but a thought. I'd probably discontinue and return it if possible.
