Hi Sarah, just a suggestion - would love if you made the finish a bigger talking point. As a male who doesnt wear makeup, the finish is the most important consideration for me as i dont like shiny dewy finishes. Anyways thanks for the video!

Not Sarah but I am a sunscreen junky married to a man who needs to wear sunscreen but HATES shiny sticky sunscreens. The 2 he is currently willing to wear are Trader Joe's Daily Facial Suncreen and Bull Frog Ultra Gel. The Bull Frog is shiny for about 10-15 minutes but dries down to a not sticky feeling. The TJ's is a dupe of SuperGoop's Unseen Sunscreen but it's about 20 bucks cheaper.

Missha Sun Milk Soft is a matte hybrid sunscreen, but if you are a deeper skin tone you will get a white cast.

Same! And still searching for a holy grail. Have you had any luck? I find that Korean and Japanese sunscreens with "Milk" in the name tend to be matte, but they are also mineral sunscreens that leave a white cast on me. Hoping to find a good chemical one.

I think Korean sunscreens are the envy of the world. The drama involving inadequate SPF there is old news now. I’ve moved on. Nothing comes close to the comfort and price of their formulations as far as I’m concerned.

Korean sunscreens have been my best anti-aging product. That is because I like their filters, I like their level of protection, I like that I have found products that work for me, I happily wear the full amount daily and even reapply during the day to maintain the level of protection. Most importantly, please stop marking Korean sunscreen manufacturers down! I believe that because of the past issue, Korean sunscreens have been under greater scrutiny, which led manufacturers to increase testing and even send their product out for third party testing. Many times can review the results of the testing, like how much more than 50 is the product or what value is a products four +’s based on.

The Korean sunscreen debacle was three years ago. They have pulled the products and corrected testing measures. Korea is also not the only country that had spf issues. It’s time to move on.

  • @NOBSBeauty

Good question! I would say the Barr has the "dewiest" finish of them all. The Cosrxx and the Round Lab SPF's are probably the lightest and least dewiest of them all. It is pretty close between those two, I would probably say the Cosrx is just a touch less shiny than the Round Lab, but just a touch. The others are somewhere in the middle. If that is an important factor I'd probably recommend either the Cosrx or the Round Lab.

@@wyattlightningPurito was not the only Korean company....only the first. KraveBeauty was another one that I remember but there were at least 4 other ones who admitted it publicly from my knowledge. Most of the new small korean cosmetic brands that are sold abroad get their products manufactured by a few Korean companies. And those few companies who work for almost all cosmetic companies did not do their job correctly and the final cosmetic companies did not check the final products.... and sold it as spf50 although it was not spf50... And in the USA the FDA does not control/test every sunscreens they are just more strict to get new uva filters validated by testing them like medecine ingredients but at the end of the day it is the responsibility of the company to test their final products and to the formula is right and making sure they sell a proper final product as they are also the ones taking the risk to get sued.

I do think the companies affected and the ones that pulled their products and did right by their customers should get credit for that. They realized something was wrong at that factory and changed how things were done and revamped their sunscreen formulas. We as consumers are reaping the benefits as there are so many more good sunscreen formulas now that most people should be able to find one they like and use it.

Hoping for it to get better but he has good days and bad days. He is a trooper though.
