DRIVING THROUGH OREGON & CALIFORNIA WILDFIRE SMOKE | Our 20 hour journey home
Pet friendly Airbnbs are hard to come by lately so we finally threw in the towel to make the 20 hour drive home to start our van conversion. The drive took us through parts of the #oregonwildfire and #californiawildfire smoke. It's so upsetting to see the conditions along the west coast. It was scary driving through and so sad watching it back.
Sounds like you're sold on a van. I was going to suggest calling your local Uhaul for a hitch. They're not really known for hitches so they might have had one. I've taken 3 different vehicles there and been totally satisfied each time. Check out the channel From She to Me if you're not already following them. I love their videos. I'm just starting a van conversion myself. I have a Transit T350 high roof extended length. It will be a true 4 season with a wet bath/composting toilet. I've camped in many RVs and most of them were self-contained so I wanted a self-contained van. Best of luck with your van.

We tried to get a hitch from UHaul in 3 different states and tried from multiple RV dealerships. I just don’t think a trailer was in the cards for us. Thanks for She to Me. Will definitely check it out. Good luck on your build.
Have been thinking about you guys. The fires are so devastating. Glad to see you're home for now. Have fun building out that van ;)

On the one hand, seems like you shouldn't be able to drive through there, and other than that, I guess you are kind of fortunate, in a way, to have experienced that. I'm "praying" for people in peril there.

Good for you ! Just paid off my car and now saving that money each month to buy a van outright. I have 10 years to retirement. I want to be on the road debt free (no van payment)
