DIY 159WB RAM PROMASTER W/SHOWER & TOILET | Luxurious Campervan Rental with Shower & Toilet Van Tour

We toured a RAM Promaster 159" WB with a shower and toilet to prepare for our upcoming #campervan conversion. It seems that the key to happy #vanlife is figuring out the perfect layout to make a comfy and truly livable home on wheels. Thank you to @mauka_to_makai_rv_renovations for the #vantour of their rental van that's available on Outdoorsy in Long Beach, CA. Thanks also to Randy Ignacio Media for sharing the opening sequence footage of the van. Vlog 13 | Van Tour | Filmed September 17, 2020

    Really smart to rent and learn what you like! We sort of did that way back......rented a Promaster City (empty) and put a camp pad in it for a week in the Florida Keys. That was enough to confirm that we could do it. Just knew we wanted to stand up.

    GREAT Video. Smart choice to go on a Van instead of AirBnB👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Much more freedom, easy way to travel and the tour with that Gentleman was really cool. It shows, he knows the details and he sure works like a PRO. To his draw handles . . . look at IKEA, (called "BILLSBRO" handle) they sell those (very modern looking) for V E R Y little money. And look so amazing, exact same style. If i knew, that guy would come along, i'd go on a year trip with him. 🤣😂🤣😂 Nice Video and i hope you enjoy your trips 🚐🚐🚐 Won't make it to Bavaria 🏔🌲⛰ i'm sure, so sending regards to you from there now.

    Beautiful conversion! Finished really nicely. I agree, I don't understand how anyone could live full time in a van and not have a dedicated shower/toilet. Thank you for asking the build cost. I find that most conversions run between $15-$25K just for materials and install so this sounds right. I like the faucet, nice and deep and can swivel outside easily. Bug screens aren't the most attractive but for the life of me I can't understand why so few choose not to install them? Not a fan of cabinet hard ware that protrudes into the walkway, catches clothes and knees! Cooktop is too close to the bed IMHO. I'd prefer a permanent semi wall that could keep oil splatters from getting on the sheets. Looks a little like a fire hazard too...Love watching TV in bed! Bravo on few windows, very stealthy! If only the Promaster had greater ground clearance and 4x4 option like the Sprinter. Great job on this build!!!

    Great build! With our build, to save space and be able to fit a full bed, we placed furring strips directly against the van walls. So the walls were sectioned instead of being one flat wall. It’s a bit more work but saves a few valuable inches on each side.

    Hey Jen & Guy that was a nice clean build. However those drawer pulls & the Propane cylinder in the drawer are not safe. Propane has to have a Sealed Box with a drain at the bottom to vent out any leaks. Good Luck with your build & make sure to conform to all the Safety Standards. to avoid expensive retrofits later on.

    Or convert it to an electric van. There are companies that would do that for you. It would turn most of the engine space and the fuel tank into battery bays which you could tap for "hotel" services through a dc to dc converter and or an inverter.

    A few thoughts. If you plan to put a propane tank inside the van it's imperative to have it in a fully sealed and vented space allowing any leakage to flow out the bottom on the area. Think long and hard about where you will spend most of your time. If you plan to stay in camp grounds all the time a small solar system will work fine however if you plan to boondock then you will run out of power quickly. Also on this subject, solar equipment under heavy loads will generate a lot of heat and therefor needs venting as well, i.e. think of your computer fan.

  • @JenandGuy

    @JenandGuy

    3 жыл бұрын

    We definitely want to mostly boondock so we really appreciate your comment about the solar. We will definitely look into proper venting.

    Have you ever heard of the thing that is referred to bump outs? They are these sort of 2,5 " squarish bubbles that are placed at the head and toe area that can give you up to 4 more inches. also I love the small slit windows that are placed at the perfect height above the head and feet! I thought that all of this talk about condensation was a bunch of malarkey but I recently experienced that it is true! Apparently leaving windows where all of the breathing takes place significantly reduces the condensation.... I experienced this to be true too!
