I love DT reaction videos. Sometimes I'll show DT to my friends and most don't get the appeal,, but some see how insanely good they are. This is a video like that. Amazing album too

They're great, no doubt. But it's just not the kind of music that you just show to someone, unless you're recommending them to listen to it if they're interested

'Six degrees of inner turbulence' was Dream Theater's 6th album... 2 CD's worth of music w/ 6 songs in total (including this epic). It came after some turbulence within the band itself. Mike Portnoy (drums) had to be treated for alcoholism and wrote 'The glass prison' about his experience getting sober w/ the help of AA. It also came after the 9/11 attacks in 2001, since the band was based in New York. Another issue was Portnoy's dissatisfaction w/ lead singer James LaBrie, who was apparently recording solo albums that took him away from Dream Theater in the studio... Portnoy said that he was considering firing LaBrie, but I think the other members talked him out of it. Still, LaBrie sensed he was on thin ice and eventually put more effort into this record and the subsequent tour in 2002. The 'Six degrees' album was a bit polarizing for Dream Theater fans... it was a lot more metal than the previous records. Dream Theater had come off their 1999 cinematic concept album 'Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a memory'... which they performed in its entirety on tour. Both Portnoy & guitarist John Petrucci were producing the records, and Jordan Rudess (keyboards) was a very strong addition to Dream Theater musically in 1999... So, a lot of music was written and recorded, and a lot more guitars were in the mix. Even without label support... no music videos and no radio airplay, the album still sold substantially - over 100K copies. The band went in an even more heavy metal direction on the next album 'Train of thought' in 2003.

Fun ? Dude, you just said fun ? U r listening to the most deepest sophisticated perfected technical music that ever made, and you are feeling fun? When I first heard six degrees, I walked around my room all the album long, punched my leg, yelled, cried, jumped... i died at the " war inside my head " and was born again with the " goodnight kisses. " ... do you guys really understand the music?

I don´t consider this to be a single song, but a suite or a concept album. It´s too disjointed musically.
