Ah, so you actually read the instructions for Airball, unlike myself. 😅 Great video as always, I've really enjoyed this series and seeing these Dragons being given another lease of life. Thanks so much for giving me the chance to own one of these fine machines from my ancestral homeland - and the shoutout of course!

I even managed to get the spell book but I wasn't recording at the time. The boxes with arrows on can be picked up and moved one at a time.

@@TheDigitalOrphanage Yes, I worked out how to pick them up but wasn't really sure what to do with them. I also found the spell book but having not read the manual I didn't really know what it was all about. I'm hoping to revisit this one and give it a proper play soon.

@@TheDigitalOrphanage Yup, screensize matters less to me these days, as I can usually plug into a bigger screen if I'm going to somewhere for a while; I want portability - in any one (working) day I can be in four or five different buildings. I want tiiiiiiny kit. Even if I do have gorilla paws.

This has been a brilliant series to follow and has only served to increase my desire at add a Dragon to my modest collection. 😊 I'm pretty certain that your trouble shooting tips and advice will come in handy in the not-too-distant future! Smashing work in resurrecting these!😎👍

Thank you, that's really nice to hear Chris. Dragons are a lovely machine to work on. My advice is to get a later one with a MK II board for the best video quality, the MK I boards tend to have more obvious jail bars on screen.

@@TheDigitalOrphanage I finished it umpteen times, though I think you just got a screen of text when you did. It was definitely about the sense of speed you got while zipping along in the Liar that was the draw for me. =) One brilliant thing about Crystal (aka Design-Design) games was the high score chart. There were tons of hidden names and phrase that, when typed in, would be replaced with an amusing message from the game's author. Always a great moment when you discovered a new one!

Although I knew of Atic Atac, I've never played it as it wasn't released on the CPC, so it didn't come to mind when I played Wizards Quest. Looking at a YT video of it I can see Wizards Quest was heavily inspired by it although it looks inferior. I'll have to find some time to play Atic Atac.

Shipping prices at the moment to Canada are silly prices. One of the buyers lives in Canada and to ship direct was basically the cost of the Dragon again. They opted to have it shipped to a UK relative and pick it up when they next fly to the UK.

@@TheDigitalOrphanage I used to play Atic Atac on my ZX Spectrum - awesome game! I also had a Dragon 32 later on but didn't realise it had such great looking games at the time. I remember getting a sprite program for it (Sprite Magic?!) with the intention of using it to write some games but nothing ever came of it. I don't think I had my Dragon 32 for that long before I moved onto another machine, which I think might have been an Acorn Electron. I have fond memories of all three machines :-)

I never had any of those machines which is why it's been fun exploring all the machines I had only read about and seen in the shops. The Dragon's proved to be a more capable machine than I'd previously thought although I'm still glad I had a CPC.
