***** That completely ridiculous you know. Something that is considered a 'long time' is only considered that because it is a relative term. Long is a subjective word. A 20 minute walk is nothing to most people but to a mayfly that only lives 30 minutes that's 2/3 of his life. It is a big deal. When things are made relative to the situation they are then placed into perspective. If you measured your life in light years and estimates on how long the universe has existed, than yeah, it wouldn't be a long time, but we as human beings don't do that. We count the minutes, we count the seconds, we have to be at work at 6 am on the dime or we get fired. There is nothing within out lives that makes the length of time the universe has existed in anyway significant or relevant to our every day lives, thus its not relevant. Because the word long is subjective, 20 years is a long time to a human being no matter how long the universe existed. We humans see it as long and thus it is. I'm not sure what entity would consider it "nothing', but its certainly not a human.

@dragonsorcerer285

muscularmouse Depending on the game, and the teacher, educational games could actually end up teaching kids more than they would learn in school alone. It's really a matter of finding the right game at the right difficulty level.
@muscularmouse
9 жыл бұрын
Ian Knight Yeah, but I'm pretty sure that after 1 year, it wouldn't be educational anymore, and rather just routine. The way I see it, the teacher was just being lazy and didn't want to teach.
@dragonsorcerer285
9 жыл бұрын
muscularmouse If you look at the original poster's comment, it was only for 2 hours a day. The rest of the day would be spent with normal lessons, so they likely used the games as supplemental learning to help the kids learn easier. Also, there are many educational games out there. The teacher could increase the difficulty level throughout the year to keep the students challenged, and could change the game to match whatever lesson they were teaching at the time.

You ever had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with bananas on it? It'll change your life. Use crunchy peanut butter. It's awesome. And blackberry jelly. You'll thank me. And s'mores. Those were good as hell! Last year my supermarket had huge bags of marshmallows on clearance for 3 for a buck. You had to buy 3 though. So I bought them with some graham crackers and a few Hershey's Special Dark bars and a couple of friends and I made some dark chocolate s'mores. If you love dark chocolate like me you should definitely try them.

But hey, it got me into special privileges, shiny medals, GATE (A high-level education program), and high test scores, so I'm not complaining. I'm not bragging, I think I should have built somewhat more of a social life, this is just what I actually do in my spare time. On a different note, our school never had us play educational games. "We are not here to have fun" (2nd grade teacher, or maybe 3rd, I forget which) So, yeah. That's kinda how our schedule went.

I'm not sure what entity would consider it "nothing', but its certainly not a human.

muscularmouse Depending on the game, and the teacher, educational games could actually end up teaching kids more than they would learn in school alone. It's really a matter of finding the right game at the right difficulty level.
@muscularmouse
9 жыл бұрын
Ian Knight Yeah, but I'm pretty sure that after 1 year, it wouldn't be educational anymore, and rather just routine. The way I see it, the teacher was just being lazy and didn't want to teach.
@dragonsorcerer285
9 жыл бұрын
muscularmouse If you look at the original poster's comment, it was only for 2 hours a day.
