Dude, it literally takes like an hour to take that damn thing off of a truck. You can drop it off at any dealership and they charge you like maybe $300 if you do the work just so they clean it out to use their machine and put it back in in one hour. You guys are just stupid or too lazy to do it. I take mine out every 200,000 miles and get it cleaned at the freightliner dealer cost me maybe 20 or $30 to buy the new bolts and clips that break sometimes on the covers and then about a couple of bucks in gas to drive to the damn freightliner dealer from my house and it was like maybe $50 for the freaking three or four sockets that are required to take it apart and then you have to buy either two or four clamps because they have an internal seal to put it back on the DOC can do this job with basic maintenance skills but you guys wanna go to a dealership and they charge a grand when it only takes maybe two hours

Adam, the DPF diesel particulate filter, as you know, traps PM participate matter, aka soot. Soot is unburned fuel. There is a combustion catalyst product on the market that improves the combustion of the fuel and reduces the soot at it's origin point within the combustion chamber. Less soot means a cleaner EGR system, VGT, and DPF. Also any soot that does get produced is laced with the product and will Regen more thoroughly at a lower temperature. I've been using it for 3 years continuously and it has worked as advertised and reduced associated maintenance costs. More up-time and less maintenance expense.

If anything they put me in a different truck while they fixed it. It took them a few days but I was back on the road right away since they put me in another truck.

The nitrogen oxide is reduced in the scr. Did you know in the ghg 17 new one boxes there is no outlet pressure sensor but it still knows the difference in pressure. Do you thinks it’s baro vs back pressure measured by acm to determine if regen is needed?

I have a question, I’ve owned this 2019 dd15 forever. It’s always does an active regen while driving every 4,000 miles or so. I never idle because I own the truck and know what it does. Currently it’s been 7,000+ miles since my soot level has gone up and gone through an active regen. Won’t let me park regen it because it says soot level is low. Zero codes or lights. Any thoughts? The reason I’m concerned is because religiously without fail the soot level goes up to about half after 4,000 miles and regens in 30-50 miles. When I say religiously I mean for the entire life of this truck (900k mikes). This truck has likely been maintained better than 99% of the trucks out there and because far it’s been great. I also have zero issues with power or idle. Checked for leaks and found none. Any advice? Am I just in my own head about it? Should I take it in and have them force a regen?

I have a 09 DPF truck and I’ve been pressure washing my DPF annually. It does wonders as long as you clean your 7th injector at the same time.

When you turn on “optimized idle” on dd15, the engine will always idle at higher rpm and you can idle all night (it will come on and off) but you will never have to do regen in the morning

Have anyone considered the exhaust gas pollution after no carbon visible, but with urea going into the atmosphere???

It’s best to ensure no leaks. Main clamps with gaskets.

adem I have a code on my computer absorption very high is that my filter

Doc is face plugged caused filter to shift back. Those filters are useless now . Idk if you noticed it bro. Hope you installed a new one box. Best way to check that is to see if doc outlet temp sensor is bent

Great observation Sunny. You are correct. This 1 box was done, and had to be replaced. Viewers be sure to run test before condemning, if your 1 box is in the same condition as the one in this video, it may need to be replaced.

Delta P and Delta T are monitored by the trucks computer.

I did the filter cleaning on my truck the hardest thing was to realign the straps with the filters. If there not perfectly lined up you will have exhaust leaks and you will have tear it all apart again..😟

@@juangonsalez1919 You’re gonna need new metal straps and and new exhaust filters all can be bought from the dealer or online.. The key to the job is getting both filters lined back up properly so you don’t have any exhaust leaks…👍🏾

You need to change out your sensors, the intake manifold pressure sensor and exhaust back pressure sensor. That is what they are called on an ISX, Detroit may call them something different, but similar. Those two sensors are the cause of most bad readings and CEL. On the Cummins, when new DPF cans are installed, the computer on the truck needs to be told that the filters have been changed out, the ECM needs to be reset. I would assume it is the same on the Detroits.

Doc and DPF are different. Most shop will only clean the DPF but, it’s best to clean the doc as well. Especially if high idle time.

I’ve had my filters washed a few times ..it works fine ..saves hundreds of dollars sending them out to be ‘cooked’ ..it should be part of bi-yearly maintenance ..(twice a year) ..

Detroit no longer recommends cleaning the filters. Replace with reman filters. Cleaning the filters can cause the SCR to be poisoned if the ceramic is damaged.

It is not recommended to turn engine off during a regen. You could cancel if you needed to move truck, if absolutely have to turn off at least let it idle to push air through dpf and cool off.
