I want to say out of all the videos I've watched so far yours is the easiest one to go step by step thank you for that. I'm new to this def system all together all of my trucks before this were predef. Believe me I miss pre def system truck LOL. But my truck is doing the exact same thing you said yours was doing. So now I know exactly where it's at and what to do to fix it thank you very much.

This is wonderful video I ever watch, you save me a lots of money after watching this video, I have the same 2009 cascadia with Detroit 60 series. I had check, stop and regen sign on my way to Massachusetts from Columbus oh somewhere PA I had this issue. I was told to stay there regen nothing happens, so I used override to deliver my load then back to Columbus oh. I went to ww Williams to diagnose they told me it's fuel compensation sensor needs to be replaced and it will cost me $1,225 after I came home trying to look for solution I came across this video, first thing in the morning I went to my truck followed the instructions. After cleaning the injector and replaced it. I started my truck then there regen started, it took about 2 hours meanwhile bf it regen for 10 to 15 minutes then it stopped. But this time it took a long time after regen all the lights are off. Everything works perfect. So I didn't go back to shop. Thank you. Thank you whereever you are off you see this message all I will say is Thank you once again.... Keep posting...

what he calls the "piston" is actually the 7th injector or hydrocarbon doser valve. it injects small amount of fuel into the HOT exhaust stream to raise the temp of the substraight to do the actual incinerating of the soot particles that are trapped in the dpf (diesel particulate filter). this unit looks like an epa 07 series 60. dd 13 and 15engines are similar. if the injector port gets plugged with carbon as this one was, the diesel just dribbles down the exhaust pipe and loads up the dpf. you get cold and incomplete regens. lots of idling builds that carbon quicker than if you idle the engine up or idle 3minutes after leaving the road and shut the engine off.

I'm missing the holidays but hope this will get me home to Los Angeles

On your DEF doser? If it was the def doser valve with the 3 lines attached to it was probably white crystallization from def fluid clogged the hole, I have a 2015 kenworth T-680 MX-13 went in to full derate behind it, I purchased the same thing you did for $800 after tax then seen I could have ordered the exact same one for $150 on line in 2 days so I pulled it out and cleaned it and cleared the port and it took care of the entire issue and I returned the $800 doser valve

@@STANKY_NUTZ unfortunately I was on the road in the middle of a load ...so that specific peterbilt parts department was open 24hrs and basically across from a flying J ...so I dropped the trailer and bobtailed over there...there are 2 dosers..the one on the engine side is connected to the Coolant lines. So the coolant would have to be drained before you could replace that one...derating sucks...

If you push the wall of soot in with a screw driver where does the black spot go? Doesn't the carbon then stay inside the hole?

YES THE CARBON BUILD UP WILL STAY INSIDE WHEN YOU CLEAN UP THE HOLE 🕳 WITH A FLAT HEAD SCREW DRIVER BUT IT WILL BURN OFF WHEN THE REGENERATION IS ACTIVE SO IT WILL NOT HURT IF THE CARBON BUILD UP FALLS INSIDE THE MANIFOLD ALSO CLEAN THE SENSOR AT DRIVER SIDE INTAKE CHARGER WHICH ALSO BUILDS UP CARBON DEPOSITS AND CAUSES A CODE TO POP✅ REMOVE CAREFULLY DOSER BOLTS AND COVER DOSER TIP TO KEEP DEBRIS OFF

the main reason the dosser valve port plugs is from excess idling. bump up your idle speed if you must idle, or use the pony motor whenever you can. excess idling can also cause egr cooler to crack. the egr valve will open and the water pump is turning too slow to circulate the coolant in the egr cooler. when you see green crystals going into your intake manifold more than likely the cooler is cracked internally. works the same on s60 as well as the DD motors. better have some cash, it will get expensive in a hurry.

Just a note it's better to clean the injector with a tooth brush if you used a wire brush you can damage the little hole and it will not spray the way it's supposed to The hole is the size of a needle for this reason it's better to use a toothbrush

Ok… so the carbon is getting knocked back into whatever it is the dossier valve unscrewed out of. Is it. Good for big chunks of carbon to be wherever it’s falling into? I assume that’s an exhaust pipe but isn’t that all headed to the filters? Will that carbon just burn up in a regen? What is the part that has the two bolts that the injector is screwing into and does it ever get replaced?

people there are 3 lines going to the dosser valve (hydrocarbon dosser/ 7th injector) whatever you want to call it. coolant in, coolant out, and fuel in. do not under any circumstance bend those lines. if they rub on anything, if they rattle inside a p clamp you will rub a hole in the line. if you rub a pin hole in the fuel line that close to a very hot turbo that truck will go up in flames faster than you can stop and GTFO of the cab. all three of those lines are interwoven around the engine brackets, exhaust manifold, lift brackets etc. they are an SOB to change. been there done that!! it aint pretty!!

Are you saying his method of cleaning with the wire brush is not good? Breaking out all that carbon build up won’t cause an issue down the road?

Hi Vic! I recently start having white smoke coming of my exhaust. And it keeps on happening. No problem with coolant, no leaking or what so ever. Could it be because my fuel injector doser haven’t been cleaned for over a year?

Hey Vic ! Im having problem with 2009 international maxxforce. Is asking for regen twice a week even 3 times a week. Do local work. I am having my mechanic burn dpf filter to remove soot , he mentioned that doser is not good anymore. Will the bad doser cause lost of power and for regen request ?? Just doser (7 injector) is $1,147 at dealer !! Any idea bro?

the injector doser you can clean out yourself,i have a video n that as well, injector and the doser can cause the lost of power,as far as the truck asking to be regenerated often, that mite be a sensor on top of your DPF filter that is going out on you or it could be your EGR valve that is out;dont buy the injector nor the doser, clean them out, good luck

it was running rough? the doser has nothing to do with the engine. but if the fuel filters are plugged the doser will have insufficient pressure to operate, regen will be more difficult. doser gets its fuel and pressure from the return fuel from the engine.
