The level headed people stand by Israel. The others are just very loud and very organized when it comes to protesting. But yes Israel and all that is good in this world needs people like Murray. I love that he is relentless in his pursuit and defence of truth as well as fight against woke and leftist destructive ideologies. We stand with you.

I'm thrilled to see one of the contemporary world's greatest public intellectuals speaking in Canada!!! No country needs to hear his frank, unapologetic defense of Western Civilization more than Canada, as this country has been so immersed in "progressive" dogma and indoctrination since roughly 2015. Vancouverites are very fortunate to have been exposed to Douglas's insight, honesty, and wisdom. Hopefully, audiences in Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal will also have an opportunity to learn from exposure to his ideas, as the residents of these woke-infested metropolises desperately need to hear his clear-thinking message.

For me, a person of mixed Hispanic and aborigin heritage, the values of the west ocuppy a predominant place in my personal mindset. It's not "colonialism" or "white imperialist imposition" as many people on the side of left ideology tend to think. I STAND with the values of the west because those values made possible the technological advances we enjoy today, the democracy, the freedom of speech (which is now in peril, specially in Canada), indivual liberty, all of them are values derived from the classical liberalism, the English and American enlightening, etc we have to defend those values from the madness of wokism, sordid hardcore socialism and self destructive hate of western civilization. Those values do matter and represent the best of humankind, not because they are of a "western origin" but because those values defend and uphold the freedom of the individual. That is precisely why they were so successful. Western Individualism gave us the gift of society, because without the concept of the individual, we will never have a free society,. The alternative is colectivism, a green, woke dictatorship and tyranny of the mobs.

Is Western Civilization worth defending? What a STUPID question. There is a major need to reform western civilization. Not tear it down. But face its negative aspects. As Murray points out in his book The Madness of Crowds, progress starts with good intentions and genuine progress, but then gets vandalized. And it starts with so-called think tanks like MLI that reify economic notions all the time. And reifying theories is where the problems begin. Brian Lee Crowley defends the Austrian school of Economics in his work and the MLI leans that way both failing to realize that it is part of the current wave of problems in western civilization that underpins the current neoliberal age of austerity. He glorifies the enlightenment while being a fan for Austrian economics and F.A. Hayek. It makes no sense. It is part of the weapons of mass distraction characterized by identity politics instead of identifying problems that need solving by attending to common interests.

It's not, and the fact that it's not is a symptom of a very big problem in the west: the west has been peaceful for SO long, it doesn't even understand the concept of "an enemy". The idea that, should Israel stand back, it's people will keep getting destroyed does not, and can not, stick as reality in minds of the western people. They think that, if only Israel stopped, pulled it's forces back, disarmed and stepped down; everything would be beautiful and the joyous happy free loving people of Palestine would happy go lucky into the future. They cannot possibly accept that the moment Israel pulls back; the Israeli civilians are going to be brutalised. And if that happens, the stupid west will tell you "well, you had it coming for your eviling". Just like when, in the west, a black man breaks the law; the westerners say "well we had it coming because we were slavers; and now it's absolutely cool to rob a mall if you're black". It's insanity.

Douglas Murray: "When your prime minister announced his separation from his wife I said probably the first time a man has divorced his wife because he wants to spend more time with himself." -- It perfectly captured the shallowness and narcissism of that individual, and someone in the audience immediately called out "Meow!" to acknowledge the almost feline precision of the observation.

Douglas, you are great. Enjoyed your take down of the ridiculous South African journalist last week and again the eloquence of this delivery. So rare but needed these days. Like water on dry earth. The comment on Churchill "having work to do" and therefore not running around do social justice stuff brought the old adage to mind ... "Those that are rowing the boat, dont have time to rock the boat ..." So much more true today than ever before. The agitators are invariably those without education or jobs or families or doing anything that matters; those who want something for nothing (free loans, free education, those who choose to do easy and ridiculous degrees like Women's Studies and then demand high paying salaried jobs for their efforts). Gone are the days of decent education, critical rational thought and true classical liberalism.

in 1980 I was given a medal which contained the words of Itzack Rabin, an Israeli general and later prime minister, and Nobel Peace Prize winner. Following Jewish custom, he wrote a note and placed it in a hole in the western wall of the Temple in Jerusalem after the six day war in 1967. The words of his prayer note to God said "Maybe peace will come". When my son swore his oath to serve in Israel's army, the company General told all the parents not to have any illusions, and that every soldier would be fighting in wars. No one wants peace more than soldiers and the sons and daughters of soldiers, by the way Rabin loved agriculture and he wanted to be a water engineer to make the desert bloom, blessed be his memory. We honour Douglas for the truth he tells the world.

Just how great is Douglas Murray? I shall miss his wisdom when he can no longer speak due to the woke shutting him down, either by misuse of law or by violent force. Mark my words that day will come I assure you when George Orwell will be proved right... “how many fingers do you see?” The answer will be... as many as I order you to see!

I personally think they're better in their roles, but they lay the intellectual foundation for others who can handle that miserable job of being a politician. We in Canada have a terrific guy who really is about as smart as Douglas plus can encapsulate things well, turn out slogans and sit down with the average guy too: Pierre Poilievre. Not the PM yet but as soon as possible, I hope.

understanding of reality is based on deeply plausible consensus with a keen sense of peril when we get it wrong. It must always always be a work in progress because relevance is moving target in a combinatorily explosive ocean of aspects.

Murray is wonderful.People may call him "conservative" but I feel you could just as well call him "liberal" at least the liberalism up till very recently that had a healthy dose of liberty to it.What he notices these days more resembles Stalinism where you believe in the whole package )that dreaded term intersectionality) or your cancelled.,Viva Murray!!!!!!!!!!!!

The difference between the way journalism and its audiences which react or fail to react with demonstrations concerning their sociopolitical views of the war in Ukraine and the war in Gaza can be summed up succinctly as "the underdog principle" at work. That is to say that humans viscerally and instinctively side with the party they perceive to be relatively disadvantaged in power differential regardless of the overlying moral issues at stake. It is a deplorably regrettable truth about human nature that, like hate, is apparently ineradicable from the fundamental human condition, to use Douglas's term for it. There's no question that Israel suffers diplomatically from the scourge of Antisemitism, but in the realm of international diplomacy, their overriding nemesis beyond Antisemitism in its reaction to constant attack from Islamists is the reptilian underdog factor. When the Israelis were threatened with national annihilation from overwhelming Arab military forces in 1948, 1956, 1967, and 1973, the Israelis were the underdogs, and the world outside Islam cheered them on to victory. Now the tables have turned on them. They no longer have the underdog principle in their favor.

22:10 As a Mandarin student and former China resident, I'd say that foreign "dev-world", or foreign "demo-word" are closer translations to the meaning of 鬼佬. If you do an image search for "鬼", you get a sense of the imagery it conjures up among native speakers. On an edited note, I see that using the "鬼佬" term here appears to trigger no response from the shadow-ba-wordan algorithm ensuring our shared safety from verbal harm.

"Without Christianity, the West is nothing." ~Cardinal Muller. He's right. Everyone needs to humble themselves and submit to Christ if we're to save our civilization. That includes you, Douglas Murray. As much as I appreciate you, you need to submit to the Lord Jesus as well. The people who are fighting for the West and know that Christianity is important to our culture don't want to be Christians themselves. It does not work like that.

One reason being that new generations communicate with images and sentences as long as a title, and very short videos few seconds long And teachers and parents rarely have an enthusiastic constructive attitude towards the past and present and future😁And the History books are rarely accurate and Films are seeing as a sort of History Books, same with the short videos young people and adults are cleverly fed by some astute people who mislead and misinform. I really like listening to Douglas Murray, but I think he would understand certain aspects that puzzle him simply by staying around young people and teenagers, I have four daughters and I see the way they learn and build their knowledge from school books and teachers and social platforms. And the different generations and of course depending on what the environment they grow up in. I know some incredibly cultured and generous groups such as Comunione e Liberazione, which is a movement within the Catholic Church, and other itineraries of faith where young people are very respectful of culture, but I also see how social media with its many lies and misinformation are mining the well being and hopes and strengths and pursuit of truth of the most honest ones

21:25 in 1978 a friend was diagnosed with a particular cancer which was treated with a concoction know to the healers of tribes located around Orillia. This was an experimental regime being administered to patients either deemed untreatable by other means or those who refused surgery as my friend had. The program was being run by a Doctor by the name of Casey (not sure the spelling but the substance was called a reverse of his name something like Iseac...?) long story short was that this person was cured and was on a number of occations asked to speak at medical seminars as a testimonial....
