It’s only travelling at 900m/S so it should be easy to react to the slow moving armour piercing round. Then what you gotta do is throw it back but aim at the turret ring, it’s common knowledge that this is the T90’s weak point. Splinter Cell itfa tactical gear 4. Weekly combat training so that they could learn to defend themselves without a gun 5. When they’re in trouble and there are other Vipers in the room, they do this hilarious chant while pointing in the direction of the threat 6. They’re literally called Vipers

As a martial arts practitioner I think the most treacherous problem with Dale and his self defense tips is that a lot of his stuff is kind of based on real stuff you learn in ju-jutsu, aikido, krav maga etc. The principles behind some of the joint manipulations, takedowns, eye gouging and such are solid, tried and tested, but the problem is that none of these techniques are the end-all-be-all maneuvers that will save you from every situation and even more importantly, can be learned by just watching a 30 second long video. All of these techniques need a lot of practice and stress testing in order to work properly in a threatening situation and in a lot of situations you won't be attacked by a mannequin that doesn't react to whatever you're doing or as you said - get their nervous system shut down by you just touching their face. These techniques work perfectly on a mat against a cooperative opponent who really doesn't try to hurt you. They could work if executed by a properly trained professional under near to optimal circumstances on an unsuspecting opponent. They definitely won't work by someone who's being attacked and decides to try a cool technique they once saw on a video on KZread. I suppose it's still better than doing nothing, but not by a long margin. If you really want to learn to defend yourself, you need practice.

11:35 is the perfect example of how sloppy Dale is when it comes to actually locking and pinning someone. Let's say in a hypothetical world, the move to take the guy down *actually* worked. He's on the ground, and for some unfathomable reason Dale decides to keep both hands on the guys hand. One of the most important things when getting a lock is to ALSO lock the elbow - it's how you get a solid armbar, and you can still put pressure on the wrist if they try wiggling out. A locked elbow will make bending that wrist all the more painful, and give you some level of control. It won't work all the time, especially if the other person is significantly stronger than you, but any competent and reasonably fit person can keep a good armbar that gives you enough control to even break or dislocate said arm if things don't deescalate once theyre on the ground. This is all of course assuming you could even get someone on the ground in the first place with such a flimsy throw. Dale didn't even have a solid base with his legs.

@@adamb1593 This 100% You dont come out of a knife fight without cuts and holes. That shits gruesome. However, wounds on your arms are not going to stop you if you are ready for it. Id believe that someone who is proficient in martial arts would have good chances of winning against someone with a knife who has no experience, but there wont be a quick and easy technique to teach you that ability, youd just have to be good in hand to hand combat, and you would also have to have a good enough reason to risk getting severally injured. Even if id think i COULD stand a chance against a guy armed with a knife, if i dont have to fight for my or someone elses life, i wont do it. I don't think getting stabbed in the abdomen is a pleasant experience. Id rather run away, id rather give up my wallet. I mean, id probably pay whatever my wallet contains to fix the holes up anyway, if id even get the chance to do that 😁

  • @austinshort2357

@@Neon1880 the reason they aren't legit is well let me say yea sure it is legit in the sense the moves do help control movement and yes you would have to train for awhile but you are also trying for an exact scenario to happen when most of the time you won't know what someone will do. Training reflexes actually are counter intuitive because you aren't only practice your moves but you're moves in response to a move from someone else . So you get in a surprise fight and let's say this is the most honorable attacker ever and he doesn't just bash you in the back of the head before you even know he there. It's not like he's going to announce " I'm striking over hand in three seconds followed up by a right hook" reflexes only really work if it's instinct. If you train reflex you train for a fake scenario that will almost never happen. You best bet, if you don't just get blasted in the back of the head before you even know, is to either run or strike the nose throat privates. Runs or strike first
