Switch weight is a joke it's just a small reason to sell a new bow that is pretty close to being a triax with a slightly diff. Grip like they change every year that u can order and change to any and all on your own anyway .never ever have I had a rest move on my bows without being a dove tail mount rest that cost 250 dollars thats just another small accessory not needed but to hype up and sell same bow with same cam and ata as triax. Which I have. Same present different wrapping paper. I've shot all 3 but could not justify getting a vertex just because off accessories. Which if u change mods for draw length and weight will also change timing on rest that you will have to adjust..which makes mod kind of pointless. Unless your a growing child your draw length won't change at all. My bows have been maxed on weight which I haven't changed from day one so unless I sell it these mods are completely useless. but need some reason to make u buy another 1000 dollar bow that is the same package as u bought the year before. The vrx is close to being same as vertex with slightly more parallel limbs. But is a shade quieter and more dead in hand then the triax with a slightly longer riser. Got to add in the useless bow rope and sling adapter. So it has new tec. On it. they came out with 31 to give a change to the other two older bows for guys that actually want something a little diff.from the previous years. It usually takes 3 years or so for them to change their bows. Like with z 7 xtreme, helim, zxt. Which i own 2 out of the three so I can keep same feel shooting all summer on one to switch to my hunting bow which is pretty close to being same bow, cam, ata draw cycle as my summer bow. They both have all the exact same parts and accessories on them trust me pretty dang close to identical. Then all the creeds came out which where the same.just like the Z2 and z3 to justify reselling the z7. All the reezens and monster chills where same bows with tiny changes to keep u buying. It's just the nature of game. Wait 4 years then you can really tell the difference between the bows. To make buying a new one worth the price

I bet the same people bitching about him buying a new bow every year are the same ones that have to have the new iPhone every year. Aaron earns his money. He can buy what he wants. I buy the new Hoyt bow each year. Placing my order for an RX-4 this week. Those of us who shoot almost every single day can justify buying a new bow. If you break it down 2 grand a year for a new bow setup really isn't that much. I bet a lot of you spend more than that on cigarettes alone or eating out a lot during the week throughout the year. It's our money, not yours. Awesome video Aaron! Sweet rig too! Good luck with it in the woods and in the mountains!

I’ve had the opportunity to shoot some of the top brands. When it comes to buying a new bow, I think everyone should go into the local shop and shoot a few different options. Buy what feels best, especially if you are getting a flagship. With the hype around the VXR, marketing, and cosmetics, I thought I was going to buy one. But after shooting all of them I went a different route. Sweet video, and I do believe it’s one of the better hunting bows on the market!

I shot the vxr 31.5" and the Hoyt rx4 ultra. I've been a mathews man the last few years. Have a halon 32 and had the triax also. To me the triax draw was smoother than the vxr. I shot both at 70 lbs and 30" dl needless to say I fell in love with the rx4 ultra draw was buttery smooth with the "3 cam and actually shot it at 30.5" bc on 30 the Hoyt felt short where as the mathews on 30" was a true 30" the Hoyt on 30" actually drew a little under 29 3/4 on a draw board. Back wall was solid the vxr might have been a tad more dead in the hand after the shot but not by much. I shoot heavy arrows anyways so I'm not worried about the little bit of speed losing from the vxr to the rx4 ultra. I was looking more for comfort and the rx4 ultra fit the bill. The draw was so smooth it felt like I could've drew 80lbs on that and would've been smoother than the 70lb vxr. And not to mention my dealer told me the scs system for the mathews was an extra $80. I thought it came with the bow out the box

It’s cool and I like the color, but the other crappy thing is that Mathews won’t let you order a new vertix (or any other bow) in the ambush green....in order to push the VXR I’m keeping the vertix and grabbing a Prime Black 5 which I never thought I’d do, but their technology and “shoot-ability” is a winner this year

Not to sound like a know it all; what is happening is your dropping your front arm because you’re aiming at a low target and you’ve consistently done this so it’s become habit for you, you’ve increased your draw length to accommodate for this. Your bow arm should be level with your front shoulder when you shoot. To aim at a low target you need to bend at the waist. This is the reason your string is coming over an inch past the corner of your mouth and the string is still not touching your nose. Try this. Draw with your bow hand level with your front shoulder, come to your anchor while your Keeping that form, you’ll see your draw length is considerably too long. Draw length measurements are approximate. The area on your arrow behind it’s fletchings should be fit between your lower lip and chin, this allows for proper arrow clearance. Sorry for ranting but this will help your shooting tremendously.

James Caldwell That’s what everyone says when there shooting an old bow. 😂😂😂 Let me guess you’re shooting a switchback? That’s about the only older Mathews I would still shoot today. I still have my switchback hanging on my wall. I agree with you too an extent. I went from switchback to the Z7 then to Hell-m then to the Creed. All 3 really didn’t wow me. Then the No Cam series was a flop. But when the Halon came out that all changed! Thats the bow that really did get better! I went from the Halon to the Triax. Now I’m going to the VXR and will keep the Triax as my back up bow. I shoot the Triax better than any bow I have ever owned in the past 30 years. It’s a true hunting rig. Small, Fast, easy to tune, deadly accurate, quiet, stable, truly dead in your hand! What more could you ask! No bow in 2009 did that. The 28” VXR is just a Triax that’s has some more features. Believe me the Triax, Vertix, and VXR is better than any older Mathews out there. The technology on bows have advanced so much since your 2009 bow was made. I have friends who still hunt with older bows too. But they have never said today’s Mathews are over priced junk! Everyone of them would love to own a new Matthews If their finances were better. Just saying!

AGAIN James! I REPEAT, That’s what everyone says that still shoots a 10 year old bow. That’s just your opinion and definitely not a fact. Anyone that knows anything will tell you that a new Mathews blows any 10 year old Mathews out of the water. I’m not sure what you’re basing your opinion on besides your wallet! They’re pricing is right in line with everyone else that makes a decent bow. You can always go with the new carbon Hoyt and spend $400 more than any Mathews. The days of buying a good $600-700 bow are long gone my friend. Snap out of it already!
