Dolly is so sharp. Watch her face while she's conversing with Conan. She is focused on the pace, what Conan's saying, paying attention to keeping the conversation lively, .. just a consummate a entertainer. Keep the folks entertained .. And obviously that sharpness is reflected in her business savvy. Dolly is an American archetype. Pulled herself up by her own bra-straps and talent and brains and will and work ethic, and remains a truly admirable person. Love her.

She always says how lucky and blessed she has been to have had the right people and opportunities to get her so far, which is a different America than you paint the picture of, and it's a better America. And yes, Dolly is the archetype of a better America, which very few are.

What I love about Dolly Parton is she is real. She is honest. She is humble. She genuinely cares about others and for the difficulties people face. I’m sure it’s because she never forgot her desperately poor beginning. For all her success and wealth, she has remained a truly decent human being.

This is one of the nicest and most interesting interviews with DP that I have ever seen.

Conan's a legitimate musical aficionado. I honestly believe he coordinated some of these bits, even when he played it goofy, just so he could jam with the legendary. More respect to Consi for that honestly.

I’m from Appalachia, I’ve never heard of people eating possum but people used to eat squirrel brain gravy. I never had it but my friend’s grandma used to make it for her. My friend wasn’t aware it was squirrel brain gravy and actually loved it. After she found out what it was made of, she never ate it again.

I'm a California kid. We moved to Tennessee when I was a little girl after my grandfather died. I never knew we were eating squirrels that my cousins hunted for until I was older and back in California. I always thought we were just getting lucky eating chicken and dumplings for dinner or fried chicken. My mom knew what a picky kid I was a kept it a secret until I was older.🤣
