All these people involved in Ruthie's care were amazing! Everyone tried to give her a lot of space. The men she stayed with were sooo kind to her they need a medal because they got her out of her shell and got her to love again. Well done to everyone who tried to make this little lady special. This Woman who rescues, fosters and adopts dogs is an amazing role model and awesome person 💝 A rare 💎 gem! Thank you so much fir the work you do for dogs! I've watched and followed your journey from the beginning! 🎉

I had a shy white pit also. When she first arrived she would come when I called her but she would belly crawl - too afraid to stand. But, shout out to McDonald's, she gained confidence searching for fries. First I would feed them to her wherever she was. Then I put them on my knee and told her she had to come to me to get the fries. When she got comfortable with that, I moved them to my shoulder. It took a few tries but she got comfortable with that, and gained the confidence. to move around as she pleased. Her name was Missi. Her foster's husband found her on a sandbar in the middle of the Mississippi river, emaciated. In talking to her foster I mentioned I was looking for a playmate for my border collie, Mary. The Foster ran a cat rescue but I did not know that she was fostering a dog as well. When we got the girls together they became instant friends and playmates. They played often and they played hard. The foster said she had never seen Missi that happy. I was certain that the situation was going to work. Although shy, she was incredibly sweet and loving, and her relationship to Mary was a blast! Missi died in 2000 from kidney failure.We were both diagnosed with the same thing four years earlier at almost the same time. When she died it felt like I had lost a family member or best friend. Soon after, I brought another dog, Maple, home from the local shelter. Maple is super sweet and Mary is a barrel full of monkeys. I absolutely love both of them. But if i'm being honest, Missi will always be my favorite

Oh dear gentlemen, you and Fredo have added another sweet Pibble to your family, Miss Ruthie. I'm sooo very happy for you all. There are many videos with people all over the world playing music and singing to many different animals with the same responses, calmness and rapt listening. I think that my favorite videos are of donkeys and cattle who try their best to harmonize, bless their hearts. Then there are the cats and dogs who have a real knack for playing the piano! Oh, sooo very many joys that critters bring to our world and us to theirs. 🎶🐾😻

Got my first rescue pitty almost 4 years ago. She was this skinny girt out of Texas. She was flown to the rescue. I have found that pitbulls are very affectionate. Completely goofy. Men who she feared couldn’t get next to her. Well I sat in her run and within 5 minutes she was wagging her tail and licking my face. So I adopted her, worked with her . Now my adult nephews come over to play with her

I'm always good with fosters finding forever-homes for their little charges, but also love me a story where the forever home has already been found. Those fellows are wonderful and they are showering little pup with just the right amount of sensitivity and love which her broken heart so needs. Also - their home is gorgeous! Absolutely beautiful! Elegantly and mindfully put together - such a calming and welcome space. Little Ruthie learning her own way down the stairs was the cherry on top.

Little Ruthie, home at last. Thanks are inadequate. Rescue people are among our unsung heroes. Talk about walking the walk! Seeing Ruthie so loved makes my day. ❤

Hats-off to Elli Frank and her Tin-Can Kennel Tour - I've seen her in videos before, and she's wonderfully honest and self-effacing, showing how a single person without extraordinary resources can nonetheless make a real difference with their life. We need more people like Elli - but more importantly? We could all stand to be a bit more *like* her.
