When I was 6, a co-worker of my dad's gave him 1 of his dog's puppies which I named Joey, & my grandfather got another 1 of the puppies which was named Daisy. However, my grandfather didn't live near us so for about 8 years the 2 dogs never saw each other. However, when my grandfather couldn't take care of Daisy anymore, he gave her to us & for the last 2 years of her life she & Joey were always so happy together in our backyard. I could tell Joey was heartbroken when she died because he died later that summer.

Yes, dogs can grieve themselves to death. I saw it firsthand from my neighbor's two dogs.

That’s real I had two labs and the younger one passed from cancer and the older girl to just gave up and passed away 6 months later. Her health, attitude and wellbeing went down hill after he passed, it was soo hard to watch.

Think there's nothing as beautiful as having someone you can call a friend and be called friend too. I just wish we could love dogs and cats more then we do right now .

@@miyako1909 It takes the same time having two pets as one and they spend time playing together instead of needing as much attention. Money-wise, yes you spend more on food but not more on vet bills if your single pet is depressed being alone and develops stress related issues. Anyway if your pet is getting depressed that is something important

That's a good quality ramp too. I have two of them for my dachshund-pitbull. One for the couch and one for the bed. They are super sturdy, non-skid, heavy duty but not too much so. They have four angles of incline and can be folded flat for storage, cleaning, or whatever and can hold up to 80lbs. The textured, ridged carpeting is great for the dog and easy to clean. Plus, the whole thing is smart looking. I have a light wood frame one to match my living room furniture and a dark wood frame to go with the bedroom furniture. I got a folding ramp from the same company for my car.

They have feelings too, they feel lonly, sad, happy, everything. The joy that dog felt upon seeing another being like him. Its makes me so happy. Don't abandon, abuse or maltreat animals. Just leave them alone if you can't take care of them.

My heart just smiled. I wish everyone would realise that dogs are pack animals.

I always think getting your only dog a dog is a good idea. Especially if the dog is alone a great deal of the time.

I got a brother for my dog and it was the best thing I could have ever done for her. I just wish I had done it sooner. She has really been so much happier with him as part of our family. I love to watch them attack each other. It's one of my favorite pastimes.

The sooner people realize this and have a heart they will stop abandoning their animals as if they’re disposable. I had two dachshunds in my life over a period of 32 years and they each believed they were human. One miniature short hair and one wire hair.

Thank you..thank you for sharing this. When I was seven my family adopted two dachshunds, a dapple male (TootsieRoll) and a black and chestnut brown female (Trixie). Those two loved each other as much as we all loved and still love them. They both blessed our lives for 17 years..I grew from a child to an adult with them. They helped me through devastating life events and so much more. They're love was incredible. They both passed months apart in 2016 and my heart hasn't stopped hurting. I will never forget the months after TootsieRoll passed and how Trixie missed him as much as we did. Love them as much as you possibly can and then some while they are gracing your life.

It’s good they got along so well. I don’t think Cam is that old. A lot of older dogs are either jealous or annoyed by new puppies - they just want to chill and the puppies want to play 24/7.

When you are pet is so much a part of your family, you need to get your pet a pet

It is so sweet how happy she was to have a friend. I wish my girl wasn’t so adamant about being the only fur baby in the house. My baby has some trauma around other animals from being in a shelter in the most important first year of her life. It breaks my heart because she wants to play, but she is just so scared. We are working slowly to help her.

im so thankful i can take my doggo to work most days and she doesnt have to be alone. everyone at work and the customers treat her like a celebrity. i used to have 3 but 2 passed from old age in the last couple years now shes alone.
