@@edithputhy4948 lmao that’s a different topic but no I’m not vegan, I just have a soft spot for animals being tested. Animals being tested and killing animals for consumption is different. Tested animals are usually killed after an experiment but sometimes they get reused which just makes their life miserable. Animals used for consumption usually go through a humane killing process which effectively ends their suffering in less than a second. An example is a close g*nshot to the brain. That’s the difference. Also, I can be sad for animals being hurt without being vegan. I can eat meat without thinking if this animal died humanely or not because it’s already ready for consumption and I can’t do anything about its past life. In conclusion, vegetarianism has nothing to do with this video.

Some research is important, like the research being done with rats to help end covid19, but its still so heartbreaking. I adore rats and rescue them whenever I can. I adopt them out as pets and am very particular with where they end up. I am trying to learn more about rescuing research rats, but most are euthanized, so its difficult to find facilities that allow it :( the animals deserve care and love and I wish there were better ways to do medical research without using rats and other animals.

I’m crying right now, the same thing happened to my beagle. He was rescued from a lab a few days before his first birthday and someone had tried to adopt him already. However, they brought him back to the shelter since they realized that it would take time to let him come out of his shell. My family and I arrived at the shelter the day after he had been brought back, I was so happy since I had always wanted a dog but we couldn’t one before because we had a tiny apartment. Since we had moved into a new apartment with a backyard my parents decided that it was the right time to adopt a dog. He was hiding behind a wall so we didn’t see him at first, but my dad noticed something moving out of the corner of his eye. Our dog was watching us from afar and would hide as soon as someone looked at him. We just decided to adopt him because… I mean, it felt “right”. We didn’t even have to ask everyone if we all agreed, the moment he looked at us with his cute little eyes it was over for us. It took some time to get used to the new environment since he had never been out of his cage (one he ran face first into a window because he didn’t know what glass was). Now he is the king of the house and we all are his humble servants! I’ve been away from home six months to study abroad and I miss him so much, can’t wait to finally cuddle with him again!

It takes patience and love and kindness, but eventually they are able to trust, and you see them full of joy. Often they are happier animals than the ones already living in the house and I believe that is because happiness is a new thing they do not take for granted.

In China there's a festival that for 7 days they cook and sell dog meat what they do. They put the dog in a bag and knocked them out with a hammer or a heavy metal stick and put them on a hook and pull their skin off and keep them alive without their skin off so that the meat doesn't go bad that's in China look it up they show everything they do from pulling the skin off to how they cook them up okay they are trying to stop it but it's a tradition hey that how cold they are

Watching this reminded me of the saddest "rescued lab animal" story I have ever seen, it is the story of a little monkey called "Britches", and the "tests" he was used for are just heartbreaking to behold and contemplate, separated from his mother as an enfant he was kept isolated, the "testing" was based on an absurd abstract notion of sight depravation and the physiological effects caused by forced sensory shutdown, as in, the technicians stitched his eyelids together and to make sure that absolutely no "shadows" could "tamper" with the "test", they placed pads over each eye and over that a hood, "Britches" was literally just a baby. After the lab was satisfied with whatever TF it was that they needed an answer to, other people, becoming aware of his plight, stepped in, and, after carefull consideration, they set about slowly, over a period of time, removing those disgusting experiment devices, they took their time because as "Britches" eyes were gradually exposed to light in small increments, he started developing physical "tics" and would cry out in anguish, he trembled and became severely depressed, crying and holding himself, the people trying to help him did absolutely the best thing for him and found an older female monkey to keep him company, she was amazing, she constantly embraced him and when he was not in her arms she made absolutely sure that some part of her body was touching him, he would bury himself into her, holding on with a desperate trembling grip, the female monkey would hold on to him tightly in return and look down at him with an expression in her eyes of the deepest sorrow for him. I tell you, sincerely, I was moved to tears, seeing "Britches" weeping in this female monkeys arms was both one of the most terrible and beautiful things I have ever seen between two animals. We must never fall so far from grace that we lose animals trust in us through abuse and neglect.

It's like that with humans, too. A lot of times when kids are removed from a bad situation and are given proper care, love, and affection, their personalities change DRASTICALLY for the better. Trauma affects us all, from man to mouse. Which is why we need to be more mindful of how trauma can affect animals, too. Testing for things such as medicine is an unfortunate necessity. But that doesn't mean the animals have to live in squalor and be mistreated. They're providing a service, so they ought to be treated with the same respect that a human person providing a service is entitled to. If you wouldn't lock a human in a cage 24/7 and only let them out for tests, why force another living creature to endure that? I truly believe anyone who would willfully neglect and cause such suffering to any living being is a monster, and will face their sins one way or another. But I digress.

We adopted a lab beagle 4 years ago. He was 7 then, spent his entire life in a cage and had three electrodes implanted in his heart that got infected and caused him so much pain that it made the family that adopted him prior to us give him up. His surgery was complicated but he breezed through because he’s a strong mf. Now he’s living his life, he looks like a tick that’s about pop. He still is very aversive and hates a lot of petting and eye contact, but I hope the rest of his life is practice for heaven. His rehabilitation required so much patience and care and love, but it was all worth it. He’s the sweetest thing ever and and he looks like a fatter version of Echo haha.

A private shelter can deny any animal if they don't have enough resources, but public shelters are typically legally required to take in every animal that is dropped off, no matter how many resources they have. The way to end these kill shelters is to fight for them to be given more funding and help them get the resources they need by donating your time/money. People working at these shelters usually don't want to kill these animals, their job is to take care of them, but the resources are limited and tough decisions have to be made.

@@TheSwarm666 Actually they were experiencing cosmetic care items. I personally don’t support labs like these, but they test things on the beagles or other animals so they can make sure it’s safe. However, there is still a chance that it could work on the beagle but not the human using it. Also, technically they aren’t abusing them, but in a way these labs actually are. Most beagles don’t even know how to walk, and never been outside. They also have their vocal chords cut, or something like that so they can’t bark. That’s because the scientists don’t want to be bothered by it. Eventually, they’re used until they are just too old to be experimented on. The scientists only care about the animals health because if they test on it when it’s sick, the answers could be faulty. They only give the animals low, quality food and clean have people out their cages every few weeks to waste the smallest amount of money needed. Edit: I did not intend to make anyone think that all scientists did not care for animals. Thank you to the resourceful reply below mine for reminding me.

@@kamille2927 Actually, how the animals are being treated usually depends on the location and why the animals are being tested on. The US, Canada, and western Europe have stricter regulations than second world countries, like China. Animals being used for testing cosmetics are treated worse than animals being used to test medications/vaccines or study illnesses, and animals used in animal behaviour studies or animal intelligence studies tend to have a great quality of life because they have lots of mental stimulation and are rarely bored. I understand that you're trying to help animals, but saying that all scientists don't actually care about the health/wellbeing of the animals isn't accurate.
