Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

When this active husky got sick, he couldn't play in the snow anymore - until his dad came up with a genius idea 💙

@@pnwsallyIf you've been giving him glucosamine supplements they can cause skeletal problems. Over time too much can build up & drain other vital nutrients from the body, especially in dogs. It causes skeletal issues ironically. If he's on glucosamine stop giving it for a few weeks, see if he improves. Best of luck from GSD owner.

Our female malamute tore her ACL and behaved in a similar way, shaking and crying when she would try to stand on her own. Thankfully an emergency vet was able to diagnose it and prescribed pain meds and muscle relaxers. Those along with activity restriction for a short period of time and she’s healed up as good as new. God bless you and him! 🙏

Reminds me of when my dog had inflammation around one of her vertebrae. It came and went, so it was almost impossible to figure out what was wrong at first. She would be in so much pain, even unable to walk at times because it affected her spinal cord and limited the use of her back legs. But between anti-inflammatory medication and cold laser and red light therapy, she was up and running again.

My dog is a huge Alaskan malamute and Akita crossbreed. He’s 12 now and has been dealing with shoulder problems since he wiped out a couple years ago after his mom passed away. They had him on vetprofen for awhile and it helped slightly. This last visit they gave him a monoclonal antibody injection (90 bucks). They said it would take a few days to kick in but wow when it did it’s been ghe most significant change I’ve ever seen in terms of dog pain meds. He’s back to jogging around and getting excited and playing. It’s a monthly infection that I’ll gladly pay to have my big boy enjoy the later years of his life. Hope your dog is well now! If not and you want the name of the med let me know 🙂

Ouch, this one really hit me in the feels. I had a Husky in Viriginia that was almost identical that started suffering from arthritis when he was 14. Still able to go on walks, but needed to be carried up stairs and lifted into the car. Eventually he developed bone cancer at 15 and wouldn't survive treatment, so I had him put to sleep to spare him further suffering. I've cried like that maybe 3 times in the 54 years I've lived, and still miss him terribly 15 years later. Do the best you can, let them know how loved they are and appreciate every moment you have with them. Those photos and videos are all you'll have left of them one day!

Our Irish Wolfhound had similar issues. They diagnosed it as Wobblers Syndrome. He has occasional episodes & all we can do is give him Gabapentin & Carprofen. I-t lasts a few days & then will be gone for awhile. Hes had maybe 5 or 6 episodes in the last 2 years. The neurologist wanted to do exploratory surgery but they couldn't guarantee me that they could actually fix anything. I chose not to put him through major surgery on a "posibility" so we just deal with it when it comes. We still take him for walks but dont allow him to run at high speeds anymore. But I just took him home & gave him all the love he could handle 😊. He is now 7 years old but is very healthy for his age. IW life spans are only 6 - 8 years so we count every day we have him a blessing.

Thanks Sally & Dustin for sharing so much love you provide Wiley💖. Just a respectful suggestion: (ER / ICU ex- Military MD here.) Basically, most living beens ('Hoomans' & our beloved little siblings / Pets & Wildlife), need to be in close contact with our Earth's energy, since we all have a positively simbiotic connection to it. It's highly recommended (At least a couple hours per week..) walking barefoot, (I know Wiley doesn't wear sneakers), wether it's on a beach or the nearest park and/ or swimming in a natural lake, surfside, etc. Huskies DO need physical activity in the outdoors, specially connected with snow. Unfortunately our daily routine / working schedules don't help much. All the above, due to 'not so good' energies we accumulate thru daily stress, which easily drains off following the above suggestions. Much love & Blessings!!. 😊🇺🇸🙏🙏🙏

@@littlecatfeet9064 Yeah I feel you on that. I used to live there and as a kid I always wanted a husky, my dad said no and taught me why then showed me across our country's map all the places and what dog suited which region and why many dogs didn't, husky's being just one. I saw a lot of husky's in Queensland, it made me very sad.

This happened to my dog. It was a disk. Expensive but resolved quickly. Back disc bulge. He is adorable. BF a keeper, I agree.

This is a great video about how far someone would go for their pet but it's worth remembering that a lot of people - I would argue most - don't have either the resources or education about how they would proceed in such a situation.

Sorry your pup is experiencing this. My niece has a malamute. Her dog had been having many issues. She started her on Zinc, with time, she has gotten better. Apparently, it's a husky health issue to look out for. Not sure if it will help, but may not hurt to try. Look forward to updates. Your partner is a good soul. Respects you and your pup. Which speaks volumes about him.
