I shampoo, deep condition and then use the rice water treatment. I use it weekly and noticed my shedding reduced. I’ve been doing it for 4 months. I ferment my rice water for 3-4 days in a dark cabinet. On wash day, I put the water in the fridge to stop it from fermenting. The water is only good for 10 days. To avoid protein overload, I dilute the fermented rice water with more water. So, 1/2 cup of rice water and 2 cups of water..... ferment for 3-4 days in dark cabinet. I get 2 more cups of water and strain fermented water in a jar and put in the fridge. 1/2 to use that day and the other half 7-10 days later. 😊

Just happened on to this as I was searching twist-outs. But I do use rice water on the regular and have short 4c hair. I use brown rice and filtered water to make it. I've learned that the longer you ferment the rice the better results (i've found-48hrs) but YASSS it smells like boo-boo! I've been traveling so I haven't been consistent recently. Typically I wash my hair every week and use the rice water. I had a "short spot" on top of my head (someone got cute with the flat-iron🙄) But in 2wks that short spot was matching the rest of my length on top! I have very dry hair and with using the rice water, my hair retains moisture better and stopped shedding. Also my hair got thicker and stronger. Keep doing what you do girl!

Make the batch Wednesday, sits till Friday use it's Friday-Monday None Tuesday None Wednesday. Let it sit overnight & do it over the weekend so you don't walk around funky & KEEP THE RICE WATER COOL!! I had mine sit in my hit bedroom & in one day it was rotten! If I leave it somewhere cool it can ferment for 4 solid days if I forget it

I heard about this RICE WATER treatment as well and i tried it too, i should've recorded. But what i did was just take the rice and boil it. Then i let it cool off while i go wash my hair. After i washed & rinsed my hair, i ran the rice water through my hair a couple times and the last rinse, i ran warm water through my hair to rinse it out. It did feel really soft after and i actually loved the smell lol. Unfortunately, i wasn't consistent, so yeah I'm continue again and try to remember to record it again

I've never heard of this before but based on the video I am curious to see if it would work for my hair. This is probably something I will try during the summer when my hair is out and about.

Thanks for watching! Using oils or peels is optional. It helps with the Rice Water smell if it bothers you.
