Thank you! Glad you found it useful :D
Very balanced presentation. I didn't know our bodies could store it from what we got when it was sunny. I'm glad I didn't know this when I worked in an office to add to the fact that I was sitting and not active all day.
Thank you for your easily understandable and informative excellent presentation! You are an excellent presenter also ... which makes the information extremely valuable
I feel like I got cheated in health class back when I was in school. The teacher was insufferable but he didn’t even really teach us anything. He just showed us obnoxious movie clips that vaguely related to human anatomy and made us guess the correlation. This man has taught me more info in 11 minutes then that asshole did in a whole semester. Definitely subscribing.
I really enjoyed this video. the information the doctor gave was clear and concise. very informative.
Nice video, it basically summaries what I spent 1-2 hours researching-in 10 mins
Great presentation. Clear normal speed and elaborate (about the topic). So much i did not know about Vitamin D in such a short video. The professional way it has been presented makes not even realize 11 minutes has passed.
Damn the production quality is fantastic here. Great work thanks for the info
I am very happy of your video's information. Please do a video on hair fall and hair growth. 🙂

Great content. A complete detailed explanation in 11 minutes
Excellent video! Thanks
Really like the way you explain in detail. Also, the graphical representation is an add on. Loved the content and the way it has been explained. Please keep this going. Loved it a lot Dr Ankit. Also, if you can include some ayurveda topics or may be daily routine ? Would love that too. Also, I loved to watch your videos: Precise, compact and informative in animated way. Thanks DocUnlock!!
This was really well done
Well said and explain thank you for the video
Having read quite a lot and watching too many videos on vitamin D, this seems to be a perfect advice on a very important and heated topic, specially on the ill effects of consuming too much of this wonderful hormone. Only occasional blood tests would reveal the levels which in excess does more harm than good. Great video Sir.

Yes, it should be updated: Covid-19 and Vitamin D, same as always, maybe a correlation but no evidence for causation and tons of evidence for confirmation bias. If you are clinically vitamin D deficient then you should get more vitamin D. But more isn't always better, if your vitamin D levels are in the normal range there is little or no evidence taking more will help you.

@@TobySimone , it’s a fact. There are conspiracies which are true. The great reset has been wished by wealthy moguls for years. The Covid vaccine gives the perfect excuse to sweep away human rights. Each day we turn the radio on to find what we can, and cannot do. People are in a malaise, wondering how to behave. Many folk keep ten metres away from me as they pass me in the street - not 2 metres. I live in a densely populated part of Glasgow . I haven’t seen any body bags or coffins carrying out victims. Doctors’ consulting rooms are empty, while their pay continues. There ARE some wards in hospitals which are full of Covid patients - it is a terrible disease. But the rest of the hospital is empty for fear of spreading Covid. I am told by those closer to the action that all deaths natural or otherwise have COVID written on the death certificate. Hence the high numbers .

Is Vit. K2 needed with Vit. d3?
@emilyz.3419
2 ай бұрын
I do have a question! If you need sunlight on your skin to produce vitamin d, I'm assuming that you need to stay outside longer when more of your skin is covered up and protected from the sun by clothing? If so, how much skin exposure was assumed when calculating the optimal amount of time in the sun? I tend to wear a lot of long and dark clothing, so apart from my face and hands my skin doesn't get a lot of sun exposure.
I definitely will share this video to my friends. Thank you.

UPDATE: Yesterday the findings of another randomised trial were released, showing that Vitamin D supplementation did not have a significant protective effect on either cancer or heart disease risk: 25 871 participants were randomised to receive either 2000 IU of Vitamin D (Cholecalciferol) or placebo. After follow up of 5.3 years, there was a 4% reduced chance of cancer and 3% reduced chance of heart disease in the Vitamin D group. However when statistical uncertainty is taken into account, it is very likely that there is actually no benefit from Vitamin D supplementation. Yup sunlight in moderation is enough for most people. If there is high UV where you live, then you can use sunscreen to help protect your skin

Very bad information for anyone concerned with immunity, or not in a sunny climate or unable to get out into the sun. First, 2000 IU enough to make a difference? William Davis [Cardiologist] recommends 6,000 IU a day for his heart disease patients as just one piece of his protocol for reversing heart disease. D3 has an anti inflammatory effect on the arteries. Also, plenty of new studies point to Vitamin D deficiency as a 10 times risk for Covid-19 for serious illness and death, with dark skinned people the worst effected in Colder climates. People in nursing homes often get no sun even in Australia, and further your recommendations seem ineffective to boost immunity. You mention nothing about this at all, and rickets is making a comeback, a disease conquered 70 years ago. Check out Ivor Cummins, kzread.info/dash/bejne/aWaHy7iIfc2ueqw.html, and this one about Covid-19 kzread.info/dash/bejne/jKurtqR_YZe2nMY.html

@@rickadlam7467 A good assessment sir..This Doc needs to do some homework on Vitamin D. You sir, are correct on all counts...There were clinical trials recently in Spain and Israel, that essentially confirm what you say. Calcifidiol (active Vitamin D3) is used to ramp down inflammation resulting in higher survival rates of people that have Covid issues. Also, check out Doctor Been (Mobeen Sayed).

2,000 IU of vitamin D is not very much. It's only 50 micrograms, or .05 milligrams. That much vitamin D3 won't show much effectiveness of stopping any disease, except rickets and possibly reducing colds. I took 5,000 IU daily of vitamin D3 for about 10 years and stopped getting colds almost completely, after getting 3-4 colds a year for my whole life. Now I'm doing something crazy and taking 25,000 IU daily of vitamin D3. Now I'm losing weight, and feel fantastic.

Shankar, It is good to walk round a big national country park. Walking reduces appetite and takes your mind off food. Remember also Jesus went into the desert and fasted for 40 days and nights. He was tempted by the devil. He was in touch with his Father in Heaven through prayer. Angels ministered to him. There were wild beasts there too. Lord Jesus Christ son of the living God have mercy on me a sinner.
Thank you, i learned many things, But there are some questions too. 1.You didn't mentioned which clothes should i wear ( i heard face doesn't make that much Vitamin D and you should wear short sleeves short and shirts, which is impossible in Iran ! ) 2.which time should i take my daily sunlight (I think more UVB is between 10 to 15 o'clock) 3. Has Sunscreen any effect on getting UVB or not?
very good information

Thanks u Doc..for advice
Interesting correlation. Tim Spector spoke about vitamin D recently. And said that " patients are always deficient in vitamin D. Though no studies can establish this connection. Perhaps people with higher levels indeed are fitter. Im using on off, going to take it for allergy /asthma.

I like how there was no lame humor in this, like in most videos I see nowadays.
I feel like there's not enough study to truly define how much supplements we should take.. Some claim that we need more than 1000+IU of D3 while the other said we need no more than 1000IU at most..
